I have strep throat! LOL

Oh yeah and It's a Girl!!!

The ultrasound was great. The doctor I go to is in a teaching facility so they do everything twice and very thoroughly. We even got to see the fingers and toes! We got to have a video that has the babies heartbeat sounds on it. Ds was not too happy about another sister, but he warmed up to it. Anyway, the baby is very heathly weighing in at a whopping 9oz right now. Brain, kidneys, heart....all functions look great.

Congratulations!

What exciting news! Now for the names.....??

Sorry to hear about your strep throat! :\ My mom's tried and true recipe is gargling with hot (at least as hot as you can stand) salt water. Tastes gross, but it might help without having to medicate.

I have tried the salt water gargle and it makes me heave. Nice huh? My MIL is keeping my kids, again. What would I do without her!

Emilee Patricia is the name we have chosen.

Brian and I both like Emily and my dad's and my middle name is Lee, so we combined the two. Patricia is my mom's name.

Just to brag a little more....FIL brought ds home in time this morning to get on the bus and MIL brought dd home late morning. I had time to get the Power Wheel together!!!

She's just stirring up trouble. Lives 2 hours away, doesn't work, has seen us 2 times in 14 months (youngest ds wouldn't know her from a checkout gal at the grocery store), doesn't call, has pulled some dirty stuff with dh, and now expects to have Christmas with us like nothing is wrong. No matter what she always plays the role of the victim. Dh is actually refusing to let her come and told her things need to be worked on - that he won't just pretend everything is okay just because it's Christmas. I am relieved, but feel bad for dh that his family is so whacked. :( This really is a mild version of what is going on, but gives you the general idea. Thanks for letting me vent!! :) Cherish your mil ~ believe me, you are so blessed!

thank goodness I only have the MIL....she will be coming here on Monday night....and staying until Thursday....(keeping fingers crossed that there isn't a huge snow storm like last year....she stayed 4 extra days...)so far so good...although its always easy and pleasant over the phone....she is helping with the shopping for dinner so that's nice....lets hope when she gets here its not awful like last year...oh and she hasn't ever really liked BIL who is ill...so I wonder what kind of stuff she will have to say about her daughter and him to us....hopefully she isn't stupid...she kinda knows that we see them alot....so...anyway...hang in there those of you with less than desirable IN LAWS....and those who have wonderful ones.....KISS them once for all of us....:* And BE THANKFUL.....:p

Oh Karla. I'm so sorry. It is hard to believe that she lives so close and doesn't see the kids. That is very sad :bigcry:

Thanks angie. I am past the point of being disappointed by it. Just feel bad for the dks that she doesn't give them the time of day and it's hard when oldest ds asks why. :( It's her loss not knowing these silly little guys we have....believe it or not you all know more about them than she does!!!!

Oops! I didn't see this, Karla...sorry 'bout that!

She sounds SO much like my mil (except for the living close part, thank God!). It really is tough because I did want my Monkey to know her (for dh's sake, mostly), but when SHE didn't even make a half-a$$ed effort for that to happen, I quit talking about her to him. My mil is always the victim, too--EVERYONE mistreats her! I'm glad your dh is standing up to her, though. Mine won't ever do that. I tried e-mailing her again last month--told her all about ds and sent photos and her reply was, "Thanks for the e-mail. Not feeling well. Will write more next week." That was it. I won't ever do that again.
Whew...this turned into a little vent for me, too! LOL! Help me up off this couch! ;)

You really ARE blessed, Angie!

No problem, Mick. I was gonna respond earlier and then dks beckoned me to build a fort! LOL! Your mil sounds A LOT like mine! In fact, even the email she sent you could have been sent by mine! Argh!! It took a long time for dh to stand up to her, but she eventually dug her own hole and a pretty deep one at that!! Sorry we are stuck with stinky mil's!! :(

No... but reading all of your posts is a good reminder to me how lucky I probaby am that I no longer have any in-laws to b!t@h about. I have to admit that it's kind of nice not to have to worry about anything concerning them any more... but in a way we still do miss them. LOL I can only hope that I make a better MIL than what some of you are stuck with... :biglaugh:
