And I am so excited. Our cans are overflowing. With Christmas and Last week we forgot to put the can out, you can just imagine.

How often does your garbage man come??? It is once a week here, but now that we are annex into the city: I heard that they come 2 X's a week. The city must give you small cans??!!!???

I am excited to see the garbage man today though. Does anyone tipp their garbage man or give them special treats???

We are city, have our own cans and they come twice a week. The recycling truck comes once a week.
I will give them cold drinks if I have a tons of trash, but I don't tip them.

We live in the country, so the garbage men do not pick up our garbage, we have to take it to the trash dump. It is open on Mon, Wed, & Fri from 7-11 & 3-6, and then it is open on Sat from 9-4. This thread reminds me I have to take ours and walk it in today. You can walk in your garbage if it is closed, but itis a pain in the well you know. LOL!

Our garbage man comes once a week and we have our own cans. Our pick up was Monday, but we were headed out of town and forgot, so we have lots, too!! I don't tip mine either.

Ours is once a week on Wednesday same with recycle bins. Everyplace I have lived has been once a week except for WI outside town. There is was every other week but you got a bigger rollcart instead of using your own 32 gallon cans. I think I'd prefer twice a week. It's so easy to forget. My SIL took all of the wrapping paper and boxes home from Christmas. They live in the country and used a burn barrell.

Our garbage/recycle pick up is every Tuesday... Only once a week. We make it a point not to forget but it's not really that hard to do. LOL Every neighbor in the neighborhood has their barrels sitting outside at the curb, so if that's not a good enough reminder to you... I don't know what would be. :) LOL

Diane...

Our garbage pick up is once per week, on Fridays, unless there has been a holiday during the week, and then we have pick up on Saturday.

During the summer months, June-Sept, we have twice a week pick up :) , so that means we don't have smelly garbage out in the sun.

We don't tip our garbage man either, but we do give him a present at Christmas, and if we have a lot to pick up. DH is usually outside with a drink or something.

Diane, Could you get that point across to my dds? Our pick-up is on Wednesday. I am stunned at the number of times no trash was moved from the garage to the street, because they forgot. The neighbors don't seem to forget. I've suggested taking in out Tuesday night when noone's running for the bus (the other excuse). Fortunately, we have several garbage cans and it's not a big thing when they forget. When I'm not working, I don't mind doing it, but I leave 15 minutes before 2 of them and 45 minutes before the other one.

Ours is once a week...we have our own cans and a recycling bucket. I don't tip our garbage men...they're pretty quick! I hardly even see them! (Plus they always throw everyone's garbage cans in the middle of the driveway...then they roll down into the street during the day. Grrrrr.) I actually don't give a Christmas card to our mail delivery person, either. I don't think it's always the same person.

In the Winter, our garbage pick-up is very dependant on snowstorms. Our garbage trucks double as our snow plows....so if we need the plows, there is no garbage pick up that day. 8o

Our trash days are Tuesday and Friday..welll, obviously we had no service this Tuesday and won't have it next Tuesday.
I woke up with a start at 7:30, and realized if I wanted our dying Christmas tree to get picked up, I had better undecorate it and put it on the curb now!! LOL

Ya'll give cold drinks to your garbage men? I've given cookies and drinks to men building our houses before, but never our garbage men.

We live out in the country but we do get trash pick up service. Actually my folks and us share the spot. We're allowed 8 bags and lately that hasn't been enough! Our pick up day is on Monday. Our trash guys are so un-dependable. Some days they're here at 7 am other times it's after noon before they show up! We can't leave our trash out overnight because the cats will get into it. We use trash cans on wheels (plastic) but the cats somehow find a way to get into them.

We used to burn all our burnable stuff but last fall I did an Oops. (Well it wasn't completely my fault!) Our burn barrel was really full of ashes and I put more out. Stuff from the barrel fell out. It landed next to the water pump and burned the wired clear down. We didn't have any water and they had to call a well driller to pull the pump and replace the wiring. My grandpa had set up the burn barrel in this spot most of 30 years ago. I was only burning where I was told to. My dad didn't even realize that it was set that close to the water pump. We cleared out the whole thing and don't burn anymore unless we really need to.

Our can is still sitting out by the curb. Can you believe it?? All the neighbor's cans are out. I know that I have (had) the right day. I even asked DH if he paid the bill. LOLOL

Now, where is the guy???

(This is said in humor, I know that there can be worst things to worry about!!)
