Seeing as I am up bright and early, I just wanted to say hello and good morning to you all.
We are dog sitting for a friend's dog (for a week), so I wanted to make sure I let him out by 8:00.
What's up for everyone today? I am actually going to go and get ready, because I am going to go and get my hair highlighted/coloured today ...hurray!! I get one whole hour (approximately) to sit and do nothing...I think I'll look for a book to take with me :)
We are also supposed to get a piano delivered today :) . When I was growing up, my parents had an apartment size piano. When they moved, my sister got the piano for her house. A couple years later, my sister got a new piano, and offered the piano to me (which for some reason I said no ?( ) , so the piano went to my brother's house (he has no kids and neither he nor his wife play the piano :( ) . Now that my eldest has playing a "keyboard" for 3 years, and my youngest is starting in January, we decided it was time to move the piano from my brother's house (where it hasn't been touched in 5 years), to my house.
Not quite sure where it is going to go, but we are excited to get it.
That's my plans so far for today!!
Have a great day everyone 8)

Good morning!
Good luck with the highlights Marla, and enjoy that alone time. Have fun with the piano!
I was up very early, got the tree undecorated, dh just took it out, ahhhhhh, the living room looks so empty and uncluttered!
I am leaving at noon to drive back to Halifax (3 hrs away) which is where we came home from yesterday, lol. This time I am going alone!! for a surprise 40th anniversary party my aunt is throwing for my parents. So, an overnight alone for me, yippee! I am leaving early so I can do some shopping when I get there.
Dh is taking the girls out to dinner and then "Jimmy Neutron".
Sure doesn't feel like Saturday yet.
Have a great weekend everyone.

We're dog sitting too--for 2 weeks. The girls will like having a dog around again, and we'll all have a chance to remember why we don't have one of our own. LOL
My New Year's Eve plans have come to a big stop. Both dds who initially said yes, are now thinking they'd rather stay home and watch tv. Yuck. Still, I'm not going to drag them out to "have fun". So we'll see.....middle dd said if I really want to go, she will. She's nice at least.
Marla, I hope you love the piano, and your new and improved hair.
Kathy, Have fun at the party and drive safely.

Marla, good luck with the highlights. What method do they use there? I've had it done 3 different ways. My first time was with aluminum foil, the second was some lame cap and she just pulled a few strands few and the third way was with a spatula-type thing. I definitely think, for me anyway, the cap method was the least effective. Last night I pulled my hair back to put it in clips and the gray was so bad, I pulled them back out! 8o
Kathy, the piano sounds like fun. Do you play a lot? I started when I was a kid but never really caught on until I took a college course in music and then the lightbulb turned on!
Cathy, sorry your NYE plans aren't working out as you hoped. Hope you enjoy the night anyway.
I got woke up this morning by the phone. Dh's dad called to see how he was doing. He said he figured kids would be up and going by now, guess he doesn't realize that doesn't mean we would be too! Dh is still sleeping.
He went to work for a while yesterday and plans to go some today and again on Monday. He seems to be feeling better.
I went bowling again last night on our league. I hadn't been there in a month. Dh still can't bowl, but we found a sub. I bowled pretty good the first game (125) but then the second game was only a 84 and the last was a 118. It's gonna take a while to get back into it.
Not much on the agenda today. We are having our Christmas with my folks tomorrow. I think my sister and her boyfriend are home so hopefully we'll see them today.
Have lots of house cleaning to do, but just really don't feel like it. I'm not ready to take the tree down yet so will probably wait until next week or the weekend to do that.
Hope you all have a good day/weekend!!

Good morning everyone. I need to do some cleaning today, but am not in the mood. I am trying to get a hold of the in-laws to see if we can celebrate FIL birthday today. Dh wants to go golfing in the morning, and then we have Christmas at my granny's tomorrow afternoon, so we will see what happens. The in-laws don't really do birthdays anyway. Well i hope everyone has a great day.

Linda, I'm so glad your dh is feeling better and moving toward resuming his 'normal' life. I'm with you on taking down the tree. It always depresses me a little, and I don't understand why "Christmas" ends on Christmas Day. Would it hurt to listen to a few more carols? Enjoy the decorations (that, let's face it, I put up pretty late)? Hmmm....

Hi all. It is snowing again! The kids are loving it.
I took them sledding this aftnoon and now dd has a friend over to play.
Dh has whatever I had and is moping around with a box of kleenex.
Quiet day otherwise....might try to get to the mall later. Kids found even more HP Lego at Wal Mart! Three new sets that I had never seen before! Guess I will get it and put it away for the next bday/holiday.
:)
