I am just wondering if there has ever been a call here for a breastfeeding support forum? This is the first parent site I have visited without one - **NOT** that I think it needs one - I am just curious. ;) IRL my major interests (after my family) are bfing and birth support so I am always drawn to those interests on the web...

I don't think I've seen anyone here ever talk about breastfeeding?

well there you go! then there is obviously no need for a forum dedicated to bfing!! :)

like I said I was just curious...I am sure I will find lots of interesting things to discuss at this site other than bfing!;)

Hi Trish, Welcome!

I can't tell you how relieved I am that "bf'ing" = Breast feeding

This board is kind of small compared to some others out there, but I don't see why we can't discuss bf'ing in the infant, toddler or health/nutrition sections. (Or the debate board for that matter) It just depends on the issue. :)

Jeannie I have been trying to figure out what you thought my name stood for that has made you so relieved but I can't come up with it...please tell me!! LOL

Trish...have you been to:

www.parentsplace.com/messageboards ?

They have a zillion messageboards there, and I'm pretty sure there is one for breastfeeding.

momma - I have to tell you we all pretty much thought it stood for something really pornographic!!

ROFL!!! to be honest, I thought the same thing too! LOL Even checked you out to see if you were a spammer!

We have had discussions in the past about bf...debates and questions. I think one reason there isn't a separate forum for it is that most of the members here are past that stage. No reason why you can't discuss it though like Jeannie said.

Marla: thank you for the link to parentsplace, I have been to those support boards. I actually belong to several bf support boards, I was not looking for another one here just curious if there was a call for one. I appreciate you taking the time to provide the link for me though!! :)

angie r: I must not be fully awake yet this morning or I am a little slow catching on...I still can't think of what bf'ing could be other than breastfeeding! LOL

annew: you even checked me out?lol how do you do that? I am not sure what a spammer is but I am guessing it is like a troll?

I am so embarrassed that you all thought it was pornographic and that I was maybe a troll!! :o I have been nursing and/or pg since I first started on ithe internet and went from domesticgoddess (which was meant as a joke! ;)) to bfmum or bf'ing momma when I switched to cable. Because I have never belonged to a non bf support board I guess noone ever needed to question my user name!!LOL

would everyone feel more comfortable if i changed it? i don't mind doing that - if you think other people coming to the site might be put off by the name i can come up with something less questionable.:)

Why don't you start a thread on breastfeeding? We might get some new members that way. I for one think it's amazing that you can nurse two kids at the same time. I decided early that I would not breastfeed my 1st child, but thought I wanted to with my second. I had a terrible time, bled like crazy, and he was starving. I had post partum depression with that child and breastfeeding for me was frightening - I felt isolated because I couldn't see a time when things would be scheduled enough that I could even get out of the house.

When you said we had a debate on bf'ing I was thinking of my version, and I thought WOW, how did I miss that!!!8o

I don't think there is any reason to change your user name, unless you feel like you should or want to. A few of us have discussed bf'ing, but like Ann said I think most of us are beyond that stage in our lives, so we don't tend to see it mentioned often here...that's not to say it can't be discussed or that no one breastfed/breastfeeds. :)

I just thought it was a coloquialism for being very large. I feel like such a geek for not figuring it out. I like the nic. You should keep it. :)

Hello,

If there was a thread on BF'ing I would also use it. Since I am planning to haev a third baby in the near furture.

Since I had two unsucessful tries with my first two kids I need all the support I can get.
