I am planning the annual teacher luncheon for dd's school. We are planning a "lodge" theme and serving them chili, stews and soups with salad and bread. We are trying to stick to this theme when giving our presents to the teachers. Our original idea was to get jars with sealable lids and fill them with homemade irish creme hot cocoa mix with biscotti cookies. We are having trouble finding the perfect jars in our price range (we have NO budget). So in case we can't find what we need-any other good ideas that would fit within this theme? We are planning on spending about $2.00 per gift. Teacher's probably need another coffee cup like a hole in the head. LOL

Thanks for any ideas you can give us!

ok..so a lodge theme gift and it costs less than $2???

how much are duralogs??? ;)

why not cofee mugs filled with cocoa mix or heck, even that really nice stiff cellophane wrapping stuffed with different flavor cocoas and coffees tied with a neat ribbon.

I take it "lodge" mean cozy warm stuff and not lumberjack things LOL

How about making picture frames out of craft sticks (popsicle sticks)? Paint them brown to make them look like logs???!!
I don't know, they may sound stupid! But it's a thought!

I like the picture frame idea. (You could also use it as a place card at their seats.) You could use twigs and jute rope/twine to decorate a plain wooden frame from the dollar store. You might check a craft store to see how much the little pre-cut "rusty tin" accent shapes are (like moose, trees, bears, etc. -- or cut shapes out of heavy kraft paper).

What about a coffee or hazelnut scented candle? Or, if there are any "stampers" on your committee, some handstamped note cards?

This isn't lodge related, but I found the idea on About.com one time, and have made a few of them since: Take a terra cotta flower pot and lid, paint them red, glue on green foam "leaves," and a drawer pull/cabinet knob painted green. With a white paint pen, I then wrote the teacher's name on the "apple." You could fill it with candies, or just about anything. (I glue more foam to cover the hole in the bottom of the pot.) They had several more flower pot craft ideas on that website.
