Anyone making anything scrumptious?? Actually, at this point I am open to anything! LOL! I just don't know what to make. Would like to do something quick and easy, yet yummy. I'm not asking for too much, am I? ;)

Thanks for the ideas gals. We had pasta twice last week (spaghetti and fettucine), so I think I need to come up with something new. LOL! Don't have porkchops either. :\ Keep the ideas coming. :D

Angie - Let us know how the venison steaks turn out. Are you seasoning them the same way you would a regular steak?

Anything I can cook in the microwave or toaster oven, LOL! Our bar b que is covered in snow so that's out of the question. Looking like chicken nuggets, baked potatoes, and carrot and celery sticks. Not too imaginative but hey my options are limited, lol!

It's leftover pot roast for us! :licklips: I could just eat the veggies and be happy ( but do I? NO!)

KathyT - my dh bought something cool this weekend. It's called Grill To Go. It's a gas grill that is portable. It's full size and has a big cooking area but it packs up so he can put it away for the winter, or put it in the car for tailgate parties this fall.
I'm anxious for him to try it out.

Looks like I'm the only one who isn't cooking tonight. I think I'm going to treat the boys to McDonalds

Angie...what about your others guests???? LOL

We are having ravioli. I am not a big ravioli fan so I think I am either going to have left over veggie soup or left over pasta from going out Friday night.

What other guests AnnW??

Brichard called and had to have dinner on the table in 15 minutes so no time for the steaks tonight. He didn't even sit down, just grabbed the pork off the plate stuck it between two pieces of bread and took off again! :(

LOL I was sitting here wondering what you ended up making!! I just had a corndog. gag!

I decided to make Chicken Parmesan for tomorrow night, salad, garlic bread and veggie. Maybe an appetizer?? Spice cake with cream cheese icing for dessert. Fat free chocolate mousse for Brichard.

Dks had grilled cheese and I had pistachios...my latest addiction. Dks went thru a corndog stage a few months ago. To me they just aren't the same if they aren't deepfried at the fair!! LOL!

Your dinner plans for tomorrow night sound fabulous!!!

Spaghetti tonight. Last night I made chicken teriyaki shish-k-bobs, salad and rice, so tonight I'm doing something easy! Not that shish-k-bobs are all that difficult, it's just that I'm a very slow cook, and all that chopping took me forever!

Baked chicken with rice and veggies tonite.

Donna..do you cook them on the grill? what all do you put in yours? sounds yummy.

Oh, they're not worth eating if you don't cook them on the grill ( and we're diehard charcoal fans, so that's a must too). I marinate the chicken in teriyaki sauce and the veggies in zesty italian dressing. I use red and green bell peppers, mushrooms and onion for chicken k-bobs. For steak k-bobs I add cherry tomatoes.

If it's not too late, and you decide to go with the grilled cheese, try this:

4 pieces of bread (for 2 sandwiches!)
2 slices cheese
butter

Heat oven to 450º. Butter one side of 2 of the pieces of bread, place butter-side down on non-stick cookie sheet. Place a piece of cheese on top of each piece of bread. Butter one side of each remaining piece of bread and place on top of cheese, butter-side up. Bake for 6-8 minutes on each side.

Not trying to isult anyone's intelligence on how to put a sandwich together! I just copied and pasted!! :D

Enjoy!

How else do people do them? That's the way my mom always did them, so I don't know any other way. :) Do you eat yours with tomato soup, too? Dks love to dunk 'em in the soup. :licklips:

I've always just done mine on top of the stove in a small frying pan... I've never heard of them being done in the oven either. :) IMHO grilled cheese sandwiches just aren't the same unless their eaten with Tomato Soup... :)

Brichard loves tomato soup and also dunks his grilled cheese. Tomato soup makes me gag! My kids have never tried it.

All the talk about grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup got me thinking about what to make for lunch... and guess what I HAD to make? Yumm... that grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup sure hit the spot (for me) although none of my day care kids cared too much for the tomato soup. Most of them say that they've never even tasted it before. I thought that was kind of strange... I was practically brought up on it. LOL

We're having pasta tossed in olive oil with sauteed sundried tomatoes, onions, lots of garlic, mushrooms, and grilled chicken. I've never heard of making grill cheese sandwiches in the oven before, we've always used the frying pan on the stove method. They do require tomato soup, and for some reason my kids will only eat soup out of cups, not bowls. Seems to me it tastes the same no matter what kind of dish you eat it out of :)

Last night we had chicken alfedo and vegies. So,, tonight will be left-over chicken alfredo with a salad!! HEHHEHHE.

I like the running dinner thread. Should we post by days though???

Happy eating!!!

LOL Diane!!!

And Angie R, I'm with ya on the tomato soup thing...eeww!!! I like mine with veggie soup! mm mm good!

The oven grilled cheese is great b/c you can do so many at once and they're not as greasy!

Tonight was potato soup for me, mac and cheese for dd.. though now, she's wants some soup, after tasting mine!

I made the venison steaks tonight. I just couldn't eat it so I had a baked potato. Brichard said they had a "unique taste." I'm not exactly sure if that is good or bad??

Last night my dad brought a dessert from Starbucks. Carmel apple something?? Great heated with whipped topping....mmmmm.
