View Full Version : DH vent
ARGH...ok...I love my dh very much  with that said...
why are men so difficult...in general....
I asked him what he was up to earlier today...and he bit my head off....like I was going to ask him to built me a house or something...yikes...I was honestly just curious to know what his plans were for the day....and hey its not Like I don't ask him that question almost every other day....
Last night he made a total big deal about dd not finishing her dinner...I say if she can't finish or at least try somthing she doesn't think she will like...then no desert....dh wanted her to stay at the table until it was gone....YIKES...I had to do that as a child and it was awful....so I let him stay in the kitchen with her....as she called for me....why does it have to be so hard....
anyone else want to vent about dh's.....or am I the only one with an imperfect one...
:p
ROFL!!! Last night dh was like "what's for dinner" I said ravioli and he asked and veggie, uh broccolli, what about a salad, why yes..got that too..and fruit..um yea honey, it's a balanced meal!!!! LOL
Dh went off this morning because there was no turkey in the house for his lunch. We had forgotten to get it at Wal-mart the last night. I told him (half jokingly) that the gay guy who works there wasn't there last night, so why bother. I always make dh get the Turkey or Roast Beef because we like the expensive kind and this guy likes dh and always gives dh 1/2 lb more free with the label of the cheapest brand on it. Basically, we save about $5 each visit. LOL
Dh tried to make dd stay at the table once and I vetoed it. Even he thought he was being ridiculous after he thought about it. As long as your dd tried the food and decided she didn't like it, then its just something to drop. It would be like someone forcing me to eat olives and I LOATHE olives.

LOL... if my dh posted on this board I wouldn't have anything to complain about either... :biglaugh: (sorry guy's) :) Actually... as long as I give my dh all of the love/attention and praise he needs/wants, he's the best guy in the world, so I can't really complain either... however he definitely has his day's. LOL ?( ?( I guess if he can put up with me though... I can put up with him too. LOL

My husband almost always backs me up when I make a rule or discipline. I USUALLY try to back my husband up -- unless his rules or discipline are totally way off -- such as grounding him to the house -- when my husband is going to be gone, and it will just be my son and I there. Or ... taking away several things, when the punishment should just be one thing -- like taking away TV or toys for the night -- not TV, toys, books, crayons, AND etc.
If my husband says something like "you have to stay at the table until you finish your plate" then I make sure I am out of the room -- I go do laundry or something like that. That way my husband will have to stay there and follow the issue through (because usually he will try to go off and watch TV or just go to bed).
Like Diane, I guess if my husband can put up with me, I can put up with him. (He gets really aggravated because I take my shoes off when I come in the house and just leave them wherever I am!)

My Dh is pretty good. He does have his BAD DAYS though.
He usuall complaint is that the house is too messy, but that has changed a little since he realized that keeping a small house clean(we live in a 2 bedroom mobile) isn't always easy, with 2 dk's. As well as my in home daycare in which some days I haev 7 kids in here including my own.
The one major complaint that I have is that he has no patience with our dk's. He expects quite a bit out of them, sometimes more than they can handle
Other than that he is not to bad, like most men they have their moments

I really would complain if there was anything to complain about!! Brichard is a incredible husband/father always doing more than I expect. He doesn't read any of the forums except for the chit/chat and debates unless I tell him there is something he needs to read.

He must be stressing about something, Renee.
Dh and I are on the same page with discipline and he is actually pretty even-keeled for the most part. If he does get short or snippy, I know he's having a tough time/stressing at work. When that happens, I usually take a time out from him for about 10 minutes. When I return, he's very sweet and I ask him to tell me what's going on. (There was a time when we had communication problems, but we've finally figured that out!)
My vent: He doesn't take anything that sounds remotely critical very well. He's extremely hard on himself and I'm sure it has to do with how his mother was with him growing up (he could never do anything right). So, I have to word things carefully and that gets to be annoying at times. I come from a "just SAY it!" family (we say it and move on), so that was a bit of an adjustment for me.

Yeah, Brichard makes all my friends sick. Their husbands beg him to stop cuz he makes them all look bad. I promise it is not me but him who is so "sweet." If I ever call my mom and complain about something she always sides with him! I really think it has to do with Brichard being a twin and he always thinks of someone else's feelings. He is a very loving, open, talk it out kinda guy. The one thing that makes me batty about him is the one thing that probably makes you all a little crazy about him. He argues until the horse is dead and buried. I guess that's one good reason we don't fight much!
I don't portray my relationship as perfect, but I can't imagine one better than ours. If it makes people wonder that I am lying then that makes me kind of sad.
You two know how I feel about you. Im always upfront about those kind of things! :) I don't think your lying at all!! I just have a problem against the "Kathie Lee Gifford" syndrome. LOL She went on and on about her perfect life and look what happened to her!
If you two have the best life-all the more power to you! :)
