Just a thought...If any of you desire true, Bavarian Germany recipes let me know. I live in Augsburg Germany and have become an excellent cook, especially German and Swiss recipes.

Marc, I'm not familiar with German dishes...I've been to Bavarian World (a restaurant here) one time a long time ago, but I can't even remember what I ordered. :o
Feel free to post your favorite recipes! We're always looking for new ideas!

You don't happen to have a recipe for Jagerschnitzel, do you? Dh and I just left Germany in May of 2001. We were stationed in Darmstadt, and that was one of our very favorite German foods. I meant to get a recipe before I left, but didn't. Now I have been trying to find it everywhere and can't. Thank you in advance.

Hi Marc. I stayed in Europe while I was in college. I lived with a german/ french family for three months. They made sauerkraut once and eventhough I really, really, hated it I was very polite and said I liked it. They had worked so hard to make it that I didn't want them to feel bad. It really took a lot of effort to keep that stuff down and I have not had german food since I left their home 10 years ago. I'lll take a look at your recipes and if I can build up the courage I might even try one :)

I've never been a sauerkraut eater either... couldn't stand the stuff until I tasted some that my sister made and it was absolutely delicious. I couldn't believe it was the same stuff. LOL I guess it depends a lot on where it comes from. :) It got me thinking that maybe home made is a LOT better than store bought. :)
Diane...
Love, love, love kraut. I eat my aunt's homemade cold right out of the jar. I for one love German food. Feel free to post some of your favorites. I've already printed out the one for Zwiebelfleisch.
