I am late today, so I am getting ready to jump on the treadmill when Trading Spaces starts a 3.
For me, first thing in the morning works, if I am showered, it ain't happening that day! LOL
I am usually on the treadmill at 9, watching either Rosie or Regis and Kelly. When I was at the gym, I still did it at that time. When I walk/run outdoors, I usually head out around 8, when ds leaves for school.
You just got to make time, or you can always find excuses.

I go first thing in the morning after the older boys are off to school and youngest ds has woken up.

MM! I'm usually heading out the door for the gym at 6:30, right after my last student. If I don't have any students, I head out earlier, like 3:00. I try to get there 5 days a week. It hard to stick it out in the beginning. Hang in there. ßß!

I tried exercising first thing in the morning and that didn't work for me. Mentally I was ready but my body seems to wake up a little more slowly, I could never run as fast that early. Then I moved my workout to late evening, after the kids were in bed. I can exercise harder but then I have trouble falling asleep. Now that my little one is almost two I'm going to try working out while he is playing. Hopefully this is going to work out better.

I get up about 5:50 and have my coffee and quite time. Then do the treadmil at 6:30, wake up ds at 7:00 and off to work at 7:45. Early morning is a must for me. I could just never get in a routine after work. I'm just too tired. If I don't do it first thing, it just doesn't get done. I find that my days go much better when I walk in the mornings. When we lived in town, I'd walk at the park, which was nicer, but now that we live out I just do the treadmil. It's ok as long as I can read while on it. Needless to say I'm just going fast enough to warm up my back and legs - not going to be able to go fast and read at the same time.

I've got a workout question that I'm going to add to your thread Renee, rather than start a new one. When you're using a cardiovascular machine, it has a display for METS - what is that?

I spread my workout out... LOL I wake up early in the morning and walk 2-1/2 miles... shower and get on with my day. After everyone is picked up and we've eaten supper and done the dishes I'll go out again and walk another 2-1/2 miles and yes... I shower twice. LOL Sometimes I'm not always in the mood for my morning walk but I push myself up and out the door anyway and after I've gone a block or two I'm awake enough to thank myself for making me do it. LOL It's always too tempting to stay in bed that extra 45 minutes... especially if I haven't slept well during the night. My evening walk tires me out enough so by the time it's time to go to bed, I'm more than ready for it. It's a good way to start... and end your day. :)

I get up at 5:45 if I'm doing weights and 6 if it's a cardio day. The days I do weights I try to get cardio in at some point later in the day. My treadmill arrives Feb 8, can't wait!

Donna I don't know what METS is??
