My dd loves cut up apples with a dipping sauce of Honey and peanut butter mixed. I am leary of sending it to school lunch with her because don't the apples get really brown by lunchtime? Does someone have a secret as to how to keep them looking fresh?

Dip them in pineapple juice, it works great. You can dip them in lemon juice, but it's so tart then.

I've told my kids that apples turn brown when the air touches them and gives them a "suntan". LOL That sounds fine to them, and they eat the suntanned apples! Gullible! :D

I've also used pineapple juice, and also used a small amount of lemon juice (in a baggie with the apples...shake to slightly coat the apples...pour out excess "lemon".) You could also shake a little cinnamon on them...Mmmmm.

I always cut the apple up, throw it in a ziploc with just a little bit of lemon juice and shake it up so the whole apple gets covered. I've never tried pineapple juice, that sounds good too.

I've heard that you can dip them in Sprite and it will work the same as Lemon juice, but won't take on a lemon flavour.

The Pampered Chef demonstrators say that Sprite works -- but I haven't had any luck with it. I think I will try the pineapple juice idea.
