OK, I know the poll is still going. I jumped on here first thing, cus my day is busy!!

Today is my parents anniversary. I am planning a romantic dinner for 4. Mom called yesterday and Aunt and Uncle are coming in today at 6:30.

Here is the menu:
Potato soup or Salad
Oven baked Chicken breast
Rice flavored with chicken broth and sprigs of parsley
Sweet peas (parents request)
Lemonaide pie or peach cobbler with ice cream

Bubbly for toasting.

I am planning to make a menu to set on each plate. Setting with china and candles. I will wear an apron and waitress my heart out. They can choose their choices. I really hope this is special for them.

***** Please help question - Any cute sayings that I can type onto the menu??? It is their 41st anniversary and their last one. I would love a poem or something. I will do a flowery border on the menu. ****

(Vent - DD's teacher asked me to come today 10:30 - 12:00 messes up the plan a little and crunches my day. I will have to tell her this is the last time I can do last minute volunteer stuff till my father passes. !!)

Dh is responsible for getting DD and Friend from school. I told him to try out the new Weinersnitzel that just opened last week.

I realize that I am cramming this all together. I only have a few min. this morning. Will check back after I drop off dd and go to the grocery store.

Thanks y'all....

Kacee what a lovely thing to do. I will let you know if I come up with anything for you to put on the menu (sounds delicious by the way!).

Today is the first day I will have a kitchen sink in over 2 weeks! And my stove!! We might actually eat a home cooked meal, lol, don't know what yet. Maybe something here will inspire me and I can stop at the grocery store on my way home from work.

Kind of a mish-mash menu tonight. I will have left-over pasta (just enough for one) and dh and ds will likely have turkey strips (like chicken strips, but coated with stuffing) with some kind of potatoe and veggie. I have all day to decide, LOL.

I'm actually going to have ALL of my kids sitting up to the table for supper tonight, which is VERY rare for us... so I'm really looking forward to it. Were going to have Chicken Parmesan with speghetti, garlic bread and a salad. I was thinking about making a dessert... but I think that by the time were done eating we'll all be too full for dessert. Now I'm only hoping that my middle dd gets off from work on time... otherwise we'll have one missing. :(

I made Jen's shredded tortillas last night. I included sauted onions and peppers for the adults. Ds only had meat and cheese, but he loved them and he's hard to please. They were a hit. Dh said he wanted the leftovers tonight and try it in a bun with sides of potato salad and baked beans. So Jen, thanks. It was quick to throw in the pot and everyone loved it. It will become a regular meal item at my house. And anytime you can get two different meals out of it, all the better.

I'm glad they were like Kat. My dh takes everything left over to work for dinner the night fter the dks and I eat it. I added his favorite hot sauce to his leftovers and he said it was really good. I bet the onions and peppers were really good, I'll have to try that next time.

Tonight- well, I'm going to make cheese ravioli with meat sauce. Yum. We buy those frozen ones at Costco and everyone but my ds likes them. I'll probably just make him some spaghetti noodles with the meat sauce. I'd love a salad, but I don't know if the lettuce I have is any good- I'll have to check. My have to send dh to the store before he leaves for work! :)

Today is MIL's birthday so MIL/FIL and one of FIL's sisters is coming over for dinner. I am marinating a beef roast, but it was pretty tough last time so I pulled a ham out of the freezer and will make both in case the beef is tough. Twice baked potatoes, broccoli, bread. I need some kind of a salad? Maybe I'll run to the store for some fruit? I need to pick up a cake anyway.

I wish you were close Renee! I've got lots in my freezer I could bring over!!

We're having chicken parmesan here tonight too! But only because I made extra last time and froze it. I've got school tonight, but dh can make the angel hair pasta and open up some green beans.

Tonight is Cobb salad per dh's request /begging. LOL I had no idea how to make it, so I actually had to look up the ingredients!

Desert is banana split cheesecake. YUM!!

For those interested:
1 grahmn cracker pie crust
1 8oz package REAL cream cheese (room temperature)
2 cups powered sugar
1 8oz can crushed pineapple
2 bananas
1 8oz. container whipped cream
chocolate syrup
crushed walnuts

Mix sugar and cream cheese together and spread into the pie crust.

Drain pineapple and spread that over cream cheese mixture. Slice bananas and spread over pineapple

Top pie with whipped topping, chocolate syrup and crused walnuts. Cover and put in the fridge for at least 5 hours. Overnight is even better!

I just made it for dh's birthday and wasn't sure it would taste good, but it was unbelievable!

Tonight we are having chili. It is cool outside and the dk are going skating, with our local hockey team.

So I figured if I stuck chili in the crock pot we can eat a bit before we go or it will wait till we get home.

I usually serve mashed potatoes or rice with it, tonight I think it will be the rice. YUM YUM

Yummm... it looks really good. Thanks for posting it Amy. I made a copy of it and I'm for sure going to get the ingredients the next time I'm at the store. I really shouldn't... (major diet going on) but when/if I gain a pound or two... I'll just blame it all on you. :biglaugh:

We went to my granny's house to eat for my mom's birthday. My granny fixed fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, creamed corn, butter beans, biscuits, and a blackberry dueby.
