Tonight we are having leftovers. I am going to put the beef roast that I didn't cook yesterday into the crock pot. My neighbor called and wants me to come over to watch girl movies with her (and the kids) while Brichard is asleep this evening. She wants to order pizza but I have enough leftover to feed us all!!

Pretty exciting stuff here today! I really want to try that cheesecake recipe that Amy posted yesterday. I can't get it out of my mind!!

Tonight I'm on my own as dh and ds are going to a hockey game...so I'm also having left-overs...

green and yellow beans
white rice
turkey strip
white wine

I'm also invited to SIL's for dessert and a movie (her dh and ds are going with my dh and ds). I think I'll rent "The Anniversary Party".

I think I'll try the chicken fried rice that Amy/CO mentioned the other day. I might even make homemade fortune cookies!

It's actually funny because growing up I didn't like them. My mom makes them for dks when we visit and now I love 'em. ?( LOL! She adds vanilla to the batter and ooh, yummy.

It is supposed to be Pinewood Derby night for the cub scouts -- however, with school cancelled because of the light snow we had, it will probably be cancelled -- so we will probably be having fast food.

On another note... Growing up, whenever we had spaghettie, we had a tossed salad and garlic bread. When you have a pasta meal -- like spaghetti or some other dish -- do you always serve a cooked vegetable with it? I can never figure out what would go with spaghetti, so we usually just have bread.

I serve green beans, corn or salad with spaghetti. The kids don't like salad (except Trey, but he mainly just eats the lettuce and carrots with ranch dressing), so they eat raw carrots .

Kathleen, about the only time I serve canned grean beans is when I am serving spaghetti! LOL Don't know why, but to me, green beans go with pasta. I also always fix a salad, and sometimes fruit. Always bread too.

Donna...think you asked if I always serve fruit at meals..most of the time, yes.

I am feeling very uninspired tonite, so I told dh to come up with dinner! LOL

I am still on my lunch.

I felt like a super woman this morning. I did my dishes (I got home at 10 pm last night) and put chicken in the crockpot all in 5 mins.

I hope the chicken comes out ok. I just dumped a bottle of barbque sauce on it.

I have no idea about sides. What goes well with bbq chicken??

I am working today should get home about 4:45. Not much time to make something fancy.

His choice, but usually he goes to the grocery store and comes back with something really fun to cook.

We usually have ranch style beans with rice or black beans and rice, some veggie and a salad with barbecue.

How did dinner go last night?
What did your dad give your mom?

We always have broccoli with pasta.

Finally home. I am exhausted. The chicken is smelling good, but I am not hungry.

The ideas of beans and salad sound great. I can do that. Just no strength right now.

DD is trying to start a sewing project right now. Auuggghhhhh!! I told her she can do it and she is on her own. I just want to go to bed.

As to the fruit question, Yes. We always have fruit at every meal. Dd does poorly eating vegetables, so the fruit helps me feel better about being a mom.

We are having something with hamburger meat. Not sure what yet though. I am sure one of the sides will be mashed potatoes and gravy seeing as how dh thinks that is a must at every meal. I think I will cook asparagus as the other side, but really this whole menu depends on what I do with the hamburger meat.

I'll let you know:D

Ok, this is what we wound up having. Spaghetti and garlic bread. Not close to what I mentioned earlier, but I did use hamburger meat.

We are going to have homemade pizza. I actually remembered to make the dough and it's just about ready. I even have the oven on ready to go!

I'm going to make that pork roast with the sweet potatoes tomorrow night. I have everything ready to go.

The Dk's and I had A&W tonight. Woke up this morning feeling very crummy so didn't feel like cooking.

Mostly today was just a laze around day and I feel better now in doing so.
