Hello All! How is everyone??

I have a day of cleaning and cooking before me. MIL/FIL are coming over for dinner and a movie tonight. I don't even know what I am going to fix.

Dk's have been sick again...another coughing, fever virus. They are feeling better, but when I took them to the grocery yesterday and they would cough, people looked at me like...how dare you bring sick kids here. I am feeling pretty closed in today. If it would only warm up so I can open a door or window!!

We are going to a birthday party this weekend for my nephew who is going to be 2. SIL wants a blue's clue's sippy cup for him and I am having trouble finding one. I do need to go and get him something.

After the party we are going to pick up our "new" couch, loveseat, chair/ottoman. My mother bought new ones so we getting the old. It will be nice to have some seating in the playroom and a small sofa in our bedroom.

Well, that's me today, what's up with you?

Nothing too exciting going on here. Dh's bball season ended on Tuesday, so he'll be around a lot more!! Yeah!! :)

Angie - I have seen Blues Clues dishes at Target, but don't know if they have sippy cups. I think all I have seen is the kind with a cover and a straw or a small cup with no cover. Good luck! Hope your dks are feeling better soon. We have been pretty healthy here lately - knock on wood! I probably just jinxed us! LOL!

At least for me it is, anyway. I was only scheduled a half shift today-- four hours, so I got off work at 9 am, fixed myself something for "lunch" (I bet it seems wierd that I would eat lunch at 9 am, doesn't it? I'm used to it now, lol), and now I have some time to myself before I go volunteer at the school book fair (and our school is having a good one, BTW). Today is the last day. I have tomorrow and Saturday off. Dh thinks we might like to go fishing. I just bought him a fishing license and a pole/tackle. I got a pole for the kids too. They are all real excited to try it out. Me too! :)

BTW, ya'll, I did get my "new" (used) car. I sure have had fun driving it!

How is the tile? I don't think I read anything about it before they came back to seal it.

I can't get over kids sports. Ds doesn't start soccer practice until April. I guess that would be because it is FREEZING!!!!!!!!!

My neighbors are either nuts or very trusting of my capabilites because now Im their marketing consultant. I have the honor of creating and implenting their marketing plan for their new office opening this fall. I haven't studied marketing since college!! I have been collecting various information and letting it marinade in my head and now writing notes and ideas for objectives, target market, strategies and measurement of success. At first I thought I was waay over my head, but its turning out quite well. I came up with their logo and tagline already and created the yellow pages ad last night. So far they love my ideas and this is REALLY good for me because I will have the opportunity to make enough money to put both dd and ds through school next year. All this from the comfort of my own home!

Ok- no one shoot pretend tomatoes at the screen. LOL!!

You're freezing and it's 60? We'd all be in our shorts about right now if it was up to 60... I'm sure you'd really like our 15 to 20 degree weather, you'd probably be dressed in your warmest snowmobile suite. LOL

I'm glad your tile turned out looking good... and wow on the bid on the faux painting... Do you have more estimates coming in? I hope that somebody can give you a better quote than that... (would it be too hard to do yourself?) LOL

One more, the girl that did my kitchen is so busy now that she doesn't have time for me..snif sob. I can't do what my decorator suggested..she was talking a big tone on tone harlequin pattern, but I have thought about doing a wash.

I also had a pretty boring Thursday, at least compared with Wednesday when I had three dc kids get sick on me. I had one throwing up while the other two needed the toilet for... other things! LOL Let's just say... I definitely could have used another bathroom. LOL Anyway, three kids were gone today but I'm hoping that they are feeling much better tomorrow so they can come back to day care. This week HAS felt like two weeks to me too... I am SO anxioius for the weekend. Were suppose to get nice weather (in the mid 30's) this weekend so it will be nice weather to maybe be outside in.

I have the furnace guy's coming back to finish up their job tomorrow. It will be SO nice to get that done and over with. (I HATE it when I have strange people running in and out of my house all day long) They'll hook up all the wiring for the new air conditioner, but not actually hook the air conditioning up until spring. Too much darn snow in the back yard to hardly get back there anyway. LOL I also got a new hot water heater and oh... that is SOOOo nice. I never noticed how much hot water I DIDN'T have before. What a big difference. Anyway, hope all of you have a nice and restful evening... :)

We've been sick here for over three weeks now!! I was the first one to get sick and my nose is still dripping, I'm starting to suspect my cold has turned into a sinus infection. Dh says our house is like a lepor colony nobody can go out and nobody wants to come in. If we don't start feeling better soon I am going to go crazy. Ann we just had a quote for faux painting our entry and it came in at $1500 I decided I could do it myself. I'm drooling over your 60 degrees too, if only spring would come....

Trout is the favorite, although we do have a reservoir (sp?)that is well-stocked with bass, something we haven't tried before. And YES! we keep them and eat them. Here is how, if you ever get a wild hair to try it: "gut" the fish, and keep it cold during transport home. You can store it in your freezer until you are ready to cook it. Heat up a skillet with a little oil, remove the head and tail from the fish, rinse the skin real well, roll in flour, and fry it. When it is thoroughly cooked (flesh inside will be whitish and no longer pink)slit the back(from the outside), flay the fish open, and lift up the spine, ribs and all in one piece. Now you have a delicious filet. The meat will lift gently from the skin. Serve with lemon or tartar sauce. Fish caught from the wild has a much better flavor than that bought in the store. Almost all trout bought in the store has been "farmed", and just doesn't taste quite the same. There was a time a few years ago when we were having a really difficult time financially and our neighbor went fishing almost every weekend. He and his friends caught more fish than they could use, so he brought it to us. We sure were grateful!

We go to a private pond to fish every summer that is stocked with bass. Yummy!! Makes me look forward to summer! :) However, the owners think the fishing won't be good this year because they think most if not all were killed this winter. :( I enjoy fishing, but I don't know if I really qualify to say I actually fish since I won't put the bait on or take the fish off the hook. I basically just hold the pole and reel the fish in, but I still have fun so that counts, right? LOL!

Sure it counts, lol! The cast is the important part-- and reeling it in, of course. :D It's been a long time since we've gone fishing, and I don't have a license (I couldn't afford to get myself one), so I won't be fishing this year, unless I can buy a license later in the season. BTW, we went Thursday, but the reservior we tried was dry. Friday was a yucky day. If the weather clears up today we might try again at a different lake-- the one with the bass. We're prone to lightning out here, so even though the fish bite better in the rain, I don't really want to risk getting struck.

We can get a family fishing license for $22. The kids get a kick out of catching "sunnies" of the dock when we visit my mom at the lake. Hope you get to get out soon and catch a BIG one!!! :)

$22! Where are you? I'm moving to your state, lol! Here in Utah it's $25 per adult. Period. Children under 12 can fish for free. There is no such thing as a "family license". Wow!

KarlaB
03-11-2001, 08:37 AM
I'm in MN. If it was $25 per adult here I wouldn't get one because I don't fish enough. I am not sure what the laws are for kids, but I don't think they need a license. I can't remember how much it is if you buy just one adult license, but it is always less for us to just buy the family one. So, pack your bags - Diane P and I could use another IB'er in MN! :)
