I was talking with a girl friend this morning about decorating .....she said she has a chair in her bedroom that her dh just adores...she Hates it...8o asked me if there was one piece of furniture I would love to put out to the curb....the Futon in our Computer room...I hate it...its one of those oversized mattresses...heavy and I just hate it...not comfortable to sit on...and really we never have enough company sleep over that its worth having......so what is your piece of furniture to toss?

The sectional in our rec room. It's in excellent shape, but I'm tired of it, lol.

I would love to toss our computer desk, there is not enough room on it and its starting to bend in the middle, I fear one day my computer is going to wind up in my lap.

I would also like to get rid of my husband white chair he has from Ikea, He has had it for years it is old, not very white anymore. I would like to replace it with a love seat or a recliner.

RCT,

I will trade you a double bed for your futon. I was telling dh that our spare bed room would be so much more spacious without the bed. Yet, we would still need a bouble bed for when the inlaws come. (Yes, again in 2 weeks!! ARRGGGGHHH!)

I would even throw in a green yucky chair. It looks good with an afgan thrown over it!!!

Right now I can't think of anything that I would want to ditch. LOL I pretty much like all of the furniture I have... even my futon. (it's SO comfy) Now a few years ago before I did ditch a bunch of it to get new stuff I could have given you a huge list... but not now. LOL

Diane...

I've got a fifteen year old blue lazy boy recliner that I would love to ditch. We also have an entertainment center from Target that I would love to see burn in the fire pit someday.:)

It would probably be the blue recliner dh's parents handed down to us. Surprisingly, it did NOT become dh's chair, but dd's!!! lol
It's just so BIG.

Can't think of anything I would like to get rid of.

Every year we have a garage sale, and I stick all the stuff that I am sick of in the sale :)

I hate, HATE my living room couch. (What the heck was my mother thinking??!!) It looks great, until you sit on it for a minute.....then all the cushions start sliding around. I decided over Christmas that I'd had enough and I'd buy a new one. So now I'm trying to decide what type, color, style, etc. UGH! As I've mentioned, I don't do change well! LOL

I hear that. I'd like to get new living room furniture just because I'm tired of the fabric. We've had it 8 years and it's got another 10 years wear at least. It's really good furniture. Thought about re-apolstering (sp) it but was told that would cost nearly as much as buying new. I may try to get some custom slip covers. Definitely going to toss all my end tables and coffee table as soon as I decide what to use instead. Any thoughts on unconventional items to use.

Kat, that's not necessarily true. It depends on the price of the fabric. I got my small sofa recovered last year...$200 for the labor, 10 yards of fabric for about $20 per yard (good, chenille fabric, I didn't try to be frugal) so $200 for that.... I got a whole new sofa custom made for the room for $400....I couldn't duplicate that new at all!
