Looks like I am the first one again....how did everyone do today?
I had a great day....
Breakfast: Special K and a 1/2 grapefruit
Lunch: Special K and a banana
Snacks: Apple, grapes
Dinner: I am going to have a huge helping of stir- fried vegetables :licklips: , and maybe some homemade fried rice on the side.
I am so proud of myself today because I really tried to drink a lot of water....so far so good (but I've been really looking for the bathrooms all day  )
Went on the treadmill earlier for a little while, and will try to go back on later.

I have done pretty well today.
Had my cereal for breakfast.
Scrambled egg for lunch with a piece of toast.
I plan to have cereal and an orange for supper.
I did snitch and have some garlic pretzels this afternoon. I feel like I'll do better with this if I don't think of it as a restrictive diet and still let myself have reasonable portions of things I may be craving. The main point of this for me will be to eat better and exercise more. The Special K plan isn't something I could do long term, so I will use it to give me a jumpstart and as a beginning to better habits. :)
Had a busy day with dks, but I plan to ride the bike tonight. :)
Did six miles on the treadmill.
DH and I went out to lunch and I had a huge salad and some soups.
Salmon tonite

Great job, everyone!!!!
Marla, I'm envious of your dinner!! I've already had my "normal" meal!!!!
Karla, you are soooo right!!!!! And you're doing great. If you deny yourself something that you're really craving, you'll just end up eating more unhealthy stuff in the long run. Besides, pretzels aren't bad!!!
Ann, awesome on the treadmill!!
I've done very well myself!!!
Breakfast - cereal w/ fresh strawberries
snack - canteloupe
lunch - chef salad and some low fat graham crackers
snack - banana and then later mandarin oranges
cereal and strawberries for dinner
celery and peanut butter (for protien!)
I'm trying to munch healthy stuff throughout the day so I don't get that sick hungry feeling!!! I must say, in the past two days, I've eaten more healthy stuff than I have in the past two years!! And it feels GREAT!!!
Also did 2 laps around the building at lunch and will get on the bike in a bit!!!
Hooray for us!!!! :yippee:
Hey, can the guys get in on this gig?

Of course!!! We'll just rename ourselves to the "Special K Club" as opposed to the "Special K girls". No discrimination here!!!
The more support, the better!!!!

oj
lunch
tuna salad w/apples, grapes, walnuts on bread
Dinner
pork chop
asparagus
rice
grapes
Misc - A tub full of water and one diet soda
Run/walk 5 miles

Aha, I see!!! LMBO!! Too funny!! :biglaugh:
Jeff, don't want any complaining when we get famous and go on our world tour, though!!!
Let me know if you want us to open a new forum for your "Special K Club" or whatever you want to call it!!
It would be great to have a weight loss/exercise club on the board. Do we need more than one forum? All I need is a description and someone who wants to moderate it.
:)
What a great idea Pam! I think one forum would cover it all.
In my twenties I use to be a certified aerobics instructor. Along with my training, I had to keep up on healthy eating habits, so I could pass along current information on to the participants. Don't ask me how I gained 10lbs though! I was so good in NC! LOL Therefore, I woldn't mind being moderator for that forum. It might even motivate me to get current in my info again!

I think that would be a GREAT idea Pam... I think it would be nice to have a special forum just for weight loss, diets and updates on how everybody is doing. :) I've enjoyed keeping up on how everyone is doing and also having to be more accountable for myself. :)

Ann...please motivate me!!!
Six miles???? Wow 8o Did you do it all at once or at two different times? How long did it take you?
I find that once I go on, 30 minutes is usually my limit, because I start thinking of other things that I have to do. Although I would love to go on in the morning before work, I don't have the time (treadmill is in our bedroom so can't go on too early).
I try to go on at 4:00 every day....watch Rosie while I am on it, but then start thinking about DKs homework and dinner :\
Can you help???
Pam, great idea. I nominate Amy to moderate.
Breakfast: half a cup of oatmeal, splash of milk, and hint of butter, cup of coffee with non-fat creamer.
Lunch will be a turkey dog and saurkraut and tea
Dinner will be ? Layered salad and whatever else the good ladies of the church bring for the college meal.
Marla...Rosie comes on at 9 here as does Regis and Kelly so I just put on my head phones and channel switch between the two while I am on the treadmill! LOL
I wasn't doing a break neck speed..I did 6.30 miles in 1 hour 33 minutes (can you tell it's all digital! LOL) I do that 2-3 days a week and then the other days I alternate between speed interval and hill interval. With the speed interval, I go about a 1.45 in 37 minutes and with the hill interval it's probably only a mile and slower..I have to be very careful with my legs.
As far as motivation, for me, it's all the gorgeous clothes in my closet that don't fit! LOL Also changing my whole mind set into healthy habits rather than not eating.
But I have to say, the main thing that has helped is that I have made it a PRIORITY. I have announced to everyone in my family that this is a PRIORITY to me. I don't allow myself to get distracted. I think taking care of me is just as important as taking care of my family.
Pam, I like the idea of a new board, but AMY as moderator???????????????????????????????
 :brow:

I also think a weight loss/exercise forum would be great... and I agree that Amy/CO would make a great moderator!

Amy/CO - you are now a moderator! Send me your email address so that I can get you up to date on how moderating works. (pam@theideabox.com)
To All - We have made a new forum titled "Fitness & Weight-loss Check-In" - we thought that would be a good title for a daily check in and support forum for those on exercise plans or weightloss plans.
