Morning! Errands and stuff. DH's car is in the shop, so he will be hanging around today! LOL

It's pretty nice here today, really breezy, a little humid going up to 80, but that front that is hitting the west coast is supposed to be here tomorrow and it will be down to 50!!!!!!! brrrrrrrrr ;)

Just got off the bike and feel great! :yippee:

Slow day here. Need to do some laundry and will also work on Valentines with dks. We have been on a roll with games lately, so I'm sure there will be more of that today, too...not sure how many more times I can play Candy Land & MouseTrap though and stay sane. :newwink: Yougest ds has class with dh tonight.Oldst ds and I have our "date" night - I'm guessing he'll choose another night at the pet store....so far I have been lucky and he hasn't asked to bring anything home! LOL! I also need to get groceries at some point. My niece, nepew and their dachshund
are staying with us this weekend, so we'll need some treats. :)

I'd do anything to have that 50 Ann... :biglaugh: It was only about 16 when I woke up this morning... VERY cold walking weather. LOL We were suppose to get snow but just got a few flurries. The sun is out and it really looks quite nice... so I guess as long as you don't have to actually go out IN it it's okay. LOL

I have no big plans today. The little baby I take care of came in an extremely bad mood today... so I've been spending a lot of time trying to calm him down. I don't think he's feeling very well and I may have to call his mom to come and pick him up. I know I can't listen to this all day. Ugh! Thank GOD he finally fell asleep... hopefully he'll be feeling much better when he wakes up.

I'm waiting for a phone call from one of my best friends. Three months ago they bought a new little Yorkie. Before they went to bed the other night they opened up the door to let the dog out to do what he needed to do. (they've got a fensed in back yard) Well... when she called for her she didn't come and didn't come so she walked out a little farther and heard the dog crying... she followed his cries and an OWL took off WITH the dog... got so far and dropped her. They rushed her into the vet's. Her back leg's weren't working at all... and found out that she was paralized from about the middle back down. The swelling has gone down quite a bit and last night they got some good news that she was getting some feeling back in her back legs. They were sending her back home today and so now they have to try to get her somewhere else... forgot the name of the place and they will start doing physical theropy on her... and also might try acupuncture. (sp?) I'm keeping my fingers crossed hoping that the poor little thing makes a full recovery. If she does I'm sure they will NEVER let her outside by herself again. Who would have thought that you'd have to worry about an owl? Ugh!!!

Anyway... I hope everyone has a great day. Take care!

Diane...

OMG!!! What a story!! Poor doggie, hope she's ok!

I was watching the news the other night and apparently there is an owl problem in the UK. Some brilliant parents thought it would be "fun" to get their children owls for Christmas, a la Harry Potter! Well, apparently owls don't make very good pets!!! The SPCAs aren't really equipped to take them either, I mean they are wild animals!

OMG Diane!!!!!!!!!

Kathy, all during December here, the SPCA was doing TONS of announcements saying "don't get owls for your kids"..it never even occured to me to do that! LOL

Diane...what a terrible story...I hope that the dog is okay.

Working all day today...just popped home for some lunch .

DH is out with his friends tonight, and the kids have a program.
My grandfather got admitted to the hospital yesterday (on the verge of a heart attack...he is 86), so while the kids are out, I'm going to visit him.

Cold day today...possibly calling for a storm tomorrow :\

I saw a segment on the Today Show about owls and they said owls definately aren't "pet" material.

I stayed home today!! I worked on some materials for ds's class and started putting together his valentines. Doing lots of laundry still and got dinner prepared early so Brichard can eat and get to bed.

I woke up this morning and felt my stomach....thinking, oh man I am getting so fat my belly is huge. Then I remembered I was pregnant! LOL

Just when I think I'm going to accomplish something, something always happens!! Ds #1 is sick today. He's had a terrible stomach ache with sharp pains. He threw up and feels a little better. The doctor says it's probably just the flu so there really isn't much we can do for it.

I have some deliveries to make this afternoon and I should pick up some groceries. Supposedly we're in a winter weather advisory. We could get 1-3 inches of snow. So it looks doubtful that I'll get the snow day I've been wishing for. Even if the kids would get a late start I have to start at usual time. :(

My plan for the day was to catch up on laundry, deliver orders and do some baking. I don't see much of that getting done though.

That's too bad about the dog. I've never heard of such a thing!

Hope you all have a good day.

Well, I've had a sore scratchy throat all day. If not better by in the morning, I think I'll use a sick day.

Eating dinner with the college group tonight, then afterwards
I get my first ESL student. She speaks no English, I of course speak no Spanish. Wish me luck.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers (keep them coming).

I just spoke to my mom and she said that he is in Intensive Care and that the doctors said that he had a mild heart attack.

Avon orders--lotions, gift items, make up , stuff like that, but not one of my customers was home today so guess they'll wait until Friday.

Well today was a busy day for my daycare, had 6 kids here for awhile. We did lots of paying and drawing.

Took DS to school and my youngest DS to preschool as well as a daycare child. Picked them all up.

Had to shovel the driveway too and take out the garbage.

Once all the daycare kids were picked up I helped DS with his homework, and started going through and bagging up my Avon orders, so I can deliver tomorrow.

Thats about it. Doesn't seem like much written down but man it was busy today, I feel very tired.

Also driving today took more time that usuall since a boulivard(sp) is closed due to the filming of the movie Dreamcatcher.

Karla, went to visit him before....he seemed not bad when we were there. A little while after we got home, my sister called and said that the hospital had just called my mom because he was being very aggressive and agitated. My mom was a mess...she knew that she was too upset to go back to the hospital. We think that one of the drugs that he is on, makes him completely disoriented and aggressive, especially after he wakes up.

Supposedly he had a nap after we left, and when he woke up, was very confused. He pulled out all the monitors, wires, etc., and tried to get up to use the bathroom. Everyone in the intensive care came running over, and then he got more agitated. Somebody finally calmed him down and took him to the bathroom. The hospital just called my mom and told her he was resting peacefully now and they have given him something to calm him down. The last time he was in the hospital (May), the same thing happened....it is definately a side effect to a drug...we just have to figure out which one.

My poor mom....she is a nervous wreck :(
