I teach 4 & 5 year olds. They love dancing and putting on performances for the other staff and children. I am having a lot of
trouble finding up to date and exciting music for my kids to use. They enjoy the beat of Nsync and Brittany Spears etc. but the lyrics are not suitable for young children. Any ideas!!!!

It's hard to find fun dance music for the kids, but it is available. I have a tape called Kids Dance Party , it has songs like The Macarena, YMCA, etc.

Recently in the US I saw a song called Kids Bop (we didn't buy it though), which looked really cooked.

I also have La Vida Mickey which is great.

You have to keep your eyes open, and don't just look in music stores, Wal-Mart usually has great kids music too. :)

we have a "kids Bop" any my two kids like it...but really hop around our house to those Time Life 100 kid song CD's, we got last Christmas from my Brother....they have all the classic kids music on them....Farmer and the Dell, This old Man....I know I thought mine would enjoy the more hip tape...but turns out they really like the older songs....go figure....good luck and I agree...maybe do a search on Kids music on the web.?

We have Kidz Bop, and my dk's love it! I also like Greg and Steve (Children's performing artists...you can find their tapes at any teacher store) for fun movement/dancing songs like "The Freeze", "The Hokey Pokey" etc.

I have heard of all of those and they are good ideas. We have the steve one with the freeze and stuff on it, which the kids love. There are all kinds of popular and classical music you can use too if you just keep your ears open. They love stuff like Achey Breaky Heart and the classical genre is loaded with all kinds of interesting things, like the Hall of the Mountain King and The William Tell Overture.8)

Hi,
Don't know if you can get this music in other countries, but there is an Australian band called Hi5 which is early childhood based and our children love performing to their songs to anyone who will listen.
