Hello all. Ds loves playing with his Lego and once he builds something, he doesn't want to take it apart. I would like to get him a lego table for his bday, but haven't seen one at a store. I found a picture of one on the Lego website, but it is listed as unavailable. Anyone know where I can find one??

I don't know where one is available but how about if you take a chest and adhere lego sections to it? The flat sheets. I've seen them at Target, Wal-Mart and our local education store. I'd suggest a toy box type chest but if you know someone that builds you could make it any size you wanted. For that matter you could even get wood squares and adhere the lego sheets to them for stability. Then the whole completed project can be moved as needed. I think someone on the board (RCT or MK? maybe?) was debating making one low and long to fit under a bed. I'm sitting here looking at DD's Little Tykes box and thinking you could hot glue the sheets on top. Hot glue can be pulled off in the future (especially if you get it cold)

When my son was younger, we got him a bus full of the mid-sized legos...not Duplo, the next step down. We bought 2 big green sheets to go on top. If you can find an inexpensive play table, you can find sheets to glue to the surface. You can even cut them to fit if you need to.

What great ideas....I never even thought about using an old playtable (which I have one kicking around!) and gluing on the big flat lego sheets.
Thanks ladies!
:)
that's exactly what we did, I too have the next size up from duplo and they came in a bus too....we hot glued 8 of the long flat green plates on to an old low for the kids table....it is perfect...I hated that table anyway, like a coffee table....the kids love it cuz they can leave thier castles and stuff up....I like it cuz it keeps those little critters, the legos, off the floor.....have you ever stepped on one in bare feet, YIKES....LOL...hope this works for you...the Lego tables were way too expensive when I looked and the one my SIL has for her daycare kids is way too small....
Great ideas!! Where do you get the big green lego sheets?

I've seen them at Target and Wal Mart... and probably at K Mart too. I have a friend who made a few of these for her day care kids and they turned out just wonderful. It's definitely a lot cheaper than buying one. LOL :)
