OK, what would you do about this? A group of 10 kids is disciplined for being silly. The teacher doesn't know exactly who was involved and who wasn't, so she says that the entire group will suffer the same consequence. Only later, you find out the teacher picked 3 of the kids out and didn't discipline them because she was able to verify they weren't being silly. My argument is either discipline the whole group or find other grounds to justify the punishment.

If she had irrefutable proof that those 3 weren't involved, I would maybe say ok, but I tend to lean towards they all take the punishment.

What kind of "proof" did she have? Were they out of the classroom? (Alibi?? LOL) I don't like to discipline a whole group, but have done it in certain situations. I tell the kids that they are a team, and they're working together to make our classroom a better place.

personally, if she said she was going to punish them all...then all should be punished.....

JMHO:)

Actually, the teacher was out of the room. The person covering for her said she didn't think these three were doing anything.
