View Full Version : women's figure skating
Who watched and what did you think? I was so happy for Sarah Hughes. She skated really well. I felt really bad for Michelle Kwan, but she did fall and Sarah did skate better last night.

I thought Sarah Hughes skated beautifully and it was a well deserved gold medal. My heart went out to Michelle Kwan as she really is a wonderful skater, but it wasn't her night I guess.
Same feelings for me too. I just thought, "how cute was Sarah Hughes?" She did beautifully. Then watching all the others fall or falter. It was bittersweet for Michelle Kwan. But I really felt Sarah deserved the Gold.

ditto!!!! Sarah's performance was incredible but she isn't as "fluid" as Michelle yet. I really enjoy the figure skating!

I watched it and thought Sarah did great! My heart broke when Michelle fell. :(
Has anyone heard the latest that there are people challenging Sarah's gold medal and saying the judges were biased? :\ They want the Russian gal to also get a gold. Russian officials threatened to walk out Thursday, citing favoritism and unfair treatment from Olympic officials and judges. I feel bad for Sarah that she can't even enjoy her moment to shine and that people are questioning how she got her medal. :(

I'm sorry, I don't see it as anything but sour grapes. The Russian gal faltered badly, then doubled several jumps that were to be triples. The gold is in the hands of the right girl. Alot of this stuff reminds me of poor sportmanship on the part of parents I've seen at boy's club games. Let the athletes compete and quit threatning to take your marbles and play somewhere else if you don't get your way.
