Hi everyone! Wednesday already. Today is the day I work in the library at the girls' school. Feel like we are back into the swing of things after having last week off. Spent a good portion of yesterday pricing out and choosing carpeting, time to do some cosmetic renos for us, yippee!

Have a great Wednesday!

Hi KathyT! Have a great day at school.

I am praying that we will get to 50 today. We had some crazy snow yesterday that didn't stick to the ground. I just wish we could go out on the deck and play for a while and get out of this house! The first time I see 60 we are heading to the zoo!

I am putting my couches back together after washing all the cushion covers. Picking up the multitude of toys that didn't get picked up last night. I am out of milk so I'd best go to the grocery. That's it for me today.

Off to Physical Theraphy at 10:00 yes I am getting to enjoy it since I feel so much better lately....two more sessions and then I see the doctor again...snowing here lightly, lets hope the roads aren't bad...I do not like driving in the snow....I should probably live in California, or Florida....LOL....the St. Johns wort seems to be lifting my spirts a little, I am also trying to get lots of light in my house, opening all the curtains and turning on the big light when I am in the kitchen...its so gloomy here all the time.....Spring yet? I saw a Cardinal this morning I hope that is a good sign.... have fun what ever your day brings you...

KathyT...
The hardest part of a vacation is having to go back to work... it's always SO hard to get back into the swing of things. For me, one week is never enough... it only makes me feel like I need another one. LOL Good luck finding new carpet... sounds like all of AnnW's talk of remodeling has given everybody the itch. LOL

angie r... I would do anything for a 50 degree day. They said on the weather last night that right now we've got 24 inches of snow on the ground, and were suppose to get a few more today. Total snowfall this year has been 73 inches... FAR more than we usually have. I'm just anxious for the day when we'll be able to walk out the door without having to put on all this winter garbage... I wanna open my front door and windows, put my shorts on and... enjoy some nice weather. Enough of this white stuff!!! LOL

Hope you all have a great day today... I'm FINALLY going to have all of my kids back in the day care today... so I'm assuming I'm going to have a pretty busy day today, so you probably won't see too much of me here today... :(( Oh well... LOL

It was gorgeous yesterday, slightly cloudy and about 70..Kacee, you came on the right day..it's supposed to rain all day today.
Kids have dentists appointments, the too big computer desk is being picked up today and the saleslady is coming over to measure.
My plantation shutters are going to be installed tomorrow!!!! The wallpaper goes up Monday.

We must have been posting at about the same time... LOL I'm glad to hear that you've been feeling so much better and that the physical theropy has been working!!! That... along with the St. Johns wort should do a lot for lifting your spirits. LOL Opening your curtains and making it brighter in your house is a great idea too. When I was going through my hard time... I remember how I would always keep my curtains closed, leaving them open just enough to let in a little bit of light. It was always DARK in my house and that just seemed to keep me in my dark and gloomy mood. Now my curtains are always open as wide as they go and the sun is always shining in. Makes things look a little brighter all the way around... LOL No, it's not spring yet... wish it was. Dd SWEARS though that she saw a robin yesterday. If she did I feel for it because I it came a little bit too early this year. LOL Have a good day!! :)

We are looking at a neutal coloured sisal. We are putting a runner on our hardwood stairs and down the upstairs hallway, we are recarpeting the small den off the kitchen, and having area rugs made for the dining room and living room, to put on the existing hardwood. We are also getting a quote for crown molding for the living room and dining room, and painting those rooms, the foyer, up the stairs, and the upstairs hallway, and changing all the doors and molding upstairs. Whew! Sounds like a lot when I write it all down, but it's time.

Kathy...sounds like fun!!! where are you putting the sisal? I have heard that they wear really well, but that it is hard to get stains out of them..is that true?
OK..want all the details..colors, ect.

We are putting the sisal in all those places! We are going with the top grade one, comes with a ten year manuf. warranty plus a 10 year stainmaster warranty, and it is coated with TEFLON of all things, so hopefully it is stain resistant (that's what the carpet guy is telling me, lol!). Our main issue is the dog, and this is supposed to be great carpet for dogs. The colour I chose is called Panama, which is like a dark straw colour, kind of hard to describe.

For the paint, we are doing creamy white with white mouldings - very traditional but suits our house. I also get to buy new den furniture, a loveseat and chair, can't decide what to go with, has to be comfy. Did you find anything for your den (weren't you looking too?).

I had really wanted to do the kitchen this year, but with disney coming up it will have to wait. Hopefully within the next 18 months though.

We had wanted to do a Berber, but couldn't cause of the dog..their nails will pull on loop carpet and cause it to run. Den is on the list, just not yet. I need to get two comfy chairs for the study..still haven't found any..we are in sticker shock since it's been over 15 years since we bought furniture!!!! LOL
Everything sounds really elegant!

Not an exciting day for me. Overtime at work ended today, so it was shorter. I don't know if that is good or bad. I was starting to enjoy the extra money. Oh well, we did without it before and we'll do without it again.LOL!

We had a beautiful natural berber carpet in the LR and the dog literally killed it within a year, lol! That is one of the reasons they recommend sisal, it is so tightly woven. Here's hoping! And I hear you on the sticker shock, so true!

Thanks, I hope it looks nice when it is all done, that is my style, really timeless and airy, not a lot of clutter, but really comfortable.

Kathy...the decorator/saleslady just left and she kept saying "well, it looks like you have very traditional tastes" and I wanted to say "aw shucks..was it all the antiques, the queen anne dining table, all the cherrywood or the white moulding that gave me away?!!!! " LOL

How true. I always keep my blinds open. Just have window treatments. I can't wait to open the windows as well.
