What types of things to have on your menu's? I am enrolled in the USDA food program, so I have to follow their guidelines, but I want some new ideas for things to serve. Breakfast, lunch and snack ideas. Thanks!

I don't do home childcare, but I had a friend that did in Germany. She was under the Army guidelines, and we were also at the center there. She usually made simple stuff like chicken and rice, meatloaf, ham and cheese sandwiches, chili mac, then she served cut up veggies, canned fruit or cut up fruit, and milk. These are lunch ideas. For breakfast, she usually rotated between pancakes, waffles, french toast, cereal, muffins.

At the center, for lunch, we had fried rice, meatballs in gravy, sandwiches (ham and cheese, grilled cheese, etc...) soup, raviolli, and stuff like that. It was always served with veggies in it or on the side and fruit. For breakfast, we had muffins, pancakes, waffles, grits, oatmeal, cream of wheat, cheese toast, etc...) This was also served with a bowl of fruit.

Snacks were cheese and crackers, fruit, veggies and dip, muffins, rice cakes, etc... I hope this helps you out somewhat. If I think of anything else I will let you know.

I'll post some idea's for you tomorrow. Right now it's just getting too late and hopefully I'll be going to catch some  real soon. (If/when I can pull myself away from this board) LOL
