I'm using Windows ME and Internet Explorer 6. Everytime I connect to the internet the homepage automatically comes up. Dh changed the home page a while back and ever since (no matter what we put as the home page) it still comes up. Is there a setting I'm missing somewhere for this?

Also, I usually go to start, favorites and then click on what ever I want to go to. Sometimes though it won't do anything. I hit control alt. delete and get a message that lamsetup was not responding. What is that? What do I need to do to fix that problem?

Thanks!

To change your homepage go to tools, internet options, general and there is a place to change the homepage.

I don't know what the other problem is. Have you tried clicking on "end task" when that happens?

I have been there to change the homepage, but it still comes up. I was hoping there was a check box somewhere to choose ( or un-choose) "homepage launches when internet connection is detected" or something like that. Just changing the homepage hasn't made any difference.

As for the other, yes, I hit end task. Sometimes that's all it takes and it will work again. Other times I have to shut the whole system down and re boot.

Thanks!!

I am confused..you are not wanting ANY screen to come up when you connect or you want a different page to come up??

If you want a blank page to come up go to tools, internet options, general and click on use blank.

Before when we got on the internet, we clicked on "short cut to my connection" which was the screen that had our user name and password. Once that was connected, we had the 2 little computers on our tool bar. The only thing we had up was the desktop. We usually click up our mail right away and then click on whatever short cut we have on the desktop to get us where we want to be. With the homepage automatically coming up we find sometimes there are so many things (msn messenger, ICQ, Yahoo messenger, etc)trying to load at once it will freeze up. We've had to adjust the options on those things, but we really don't want a page coming up. We've tried the "blank" but we liked it better when nothing came up at all.
Thanks!
(off to try link that Jeff posted)
