I did the exact same thing you are about to do. I taught Kindergarten for 6 years then went to first for a brief time and now am in second. The first nine weeks were a transition period of getting the kids settled and working in a seat longer. If you do centers I recommend that you stay with that. Where I worked in the morning the kids did board work. It was hard for first grade, but second love it. I would work on handwriting, first of the morning and journal wriitng. I hope this helps!
