Tell me again what it's like to have a baby in care...

I got a call today from a lady who is looking for care in a few months for a newborn baby. By the time she will need care, I will have an opening for the baby if I wanted to take her, as both the boys I currently watch will be over 2 and the two new ones I have will no longer be in my care. I love babies, but I know they are a lot of work and I'm wondering how it changes the routine in your home to have an infant as well as older children. In a way I want to do it, but then I'm not sure just how hard it will be. Just wondering how you are handling the baby and the older ones.

Thanks! :)

Unfortunately,... the baby that I have is a real crier and is very seldom ever satisfied unless he's got a bottle in his mouth or if you're constantly carrying him. 8o How an infant fits into your day care will totally depend upon the infant. I've had a lot of good/great babies who have done wonderfully... easily satisfied and very happy and content, while I've also had my share of very crabby/unhappy and not easily satisfied babies... and they can really stress/frustrate you and the other kids in the day care out. 8o (Makes for a loooong day) I guess the only advice I can give you is to take him/her on a two week trial basis to see how it works out for you/them. Good or bad, they definitely are a lot of extra work... especially when you're busy doing things with the other kids. When they want/need you... they want you NOW... not later. LOL If you love/adore infants... you'll probably enjoy having one around. Let me know what you decide and how it works out for you. :)
