My family eats a lot of potatos. Does anyone have an idea for a unique or fun way to prepare them? I am so tired of the same-old baked or mashed.

My family loves cottage potatoes (not sure if it is a family name or style to cook them). I peel and dice them with an onion. Cover the bottom of the skillet with oil and pan fry them. Salt and pepper add the finishing touch. I hope you enjoy them this way!! We sure do.

Hey there,

What are you putting on your baked potatoes? A potato is a potato until you put something good on it. Different toppings could be:

butter & sour cream
butter, sour cream and chipped beef
butter & ranch dressing
butter, hormel chili (or any homeade chili) & sour cream
butter, sour cream chili, extra sharp shredded cheddar cheese
butter, sour cream chipped beef, barbecue sauce, green onions

whatever you like!!!!!!! the ideas are endless!!!

have you made garlic mashed potatoes with red creamers?
boil your potatoes with garlic cloves until soft. drain the water and mash the two together with some milk and sour cream and butter.

enjoy!!!!!

Here's a nice, rich recipe. Not something for every day, but nice for a change. :) It's great served with ham. I don't like instant potatoes, but I love this recipe!

Mashed Potato Casserole

12 servings instant potatoes (mix as directed using 2 Tablespoons less milk)

Add
1 cup sour cream
2 3oz pkgs. cream cheese
2 teaspoons onion salt
2 Tablespoons butter

Beat well. Bake uncovered in greased 9 x 13 dish at 350* for 30 - 40 minutes. Serves six.
