View Full Version : Taco Salad recipe needed
someone once posted a recipe for Taco salad...using the kidney bean juices and taco seasonings for the dressing....does that sound familiar? can anyone help me out?
thanks in advance...:)
Here is the taco salad recipe we use:
Hamburger meat
taco seasoning
lettuce
tomato
kidney beans
extra sharp cheddar cheese
Once you cook the hamburger meat and add the taco seasoning mix and let that simmer, mix everything together in a large bowl and mix Catalina Dressing in with it. Serve over chips. You can also use sour cream on top, or whatever you like in a t
taco salad. The catalina dressing really makes a unique flavor......

Here's the one I use...
Ingredients:
2 (19 ounce) cans kidney beans, drained and rinsed
1 (12 ounce) package frozen vegetarian burger crumbles
1 (1.25 ounce) package taco seasoning mix
2 onions, chopped
1 (16 ounce) jar salsa
1 (14.5 ounce) package corn tortilla chips
2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
1 head leaf lettuce - washed, dried and torn into bite-si
4 tomatoes, diced
Directions:
1. In a medium-size mixing bowl combine beans, burger, taco seasoning, onions, salsa, and refrigerate.
2. When ready to serve, layer in individual bowls: chips, cheese, lettuce, bean mixture, and top with diced tomatoes.

I always put Catalina dressing on my tacos and I love it! I guess it was something that my mom did when I was young and it caught on with me. My dh thought that it was gross- then he tried it and he liked it!
