Hi all! Just wanted to say have a great weekend....we are off to the city first thing in the morning for another dance competition. Both girls will be competing this time, so all the more nerve-wracking for me! LOL Oldest dd fell last Sat. and hurt her arm/wrist - we had it x-rayed and no break showed up so she was wearing a tensor bandage/sleeping with a cold pack on it and taking anti-inflamitories. I took her back to the dr. today because it kept swelling and was always so painful....and the dr. put a cast on it! Different dr. this time, but after having a radiologist look at the x-rays, they noticed that although there was no broken bone, there was a bulge in one bone which is probably the cause of swelling/continual pain. The dr. said the cast will be more of a precautionary thing.....if her wrist got hit in gym class/outside the wrong way, there was a good chance that it would break easily. So now, dd is worried about competing on Saturday (even though the dr. said it would be fine to)thinking that there is no way she could win with a cast on her arm. I told her to just try her best and time will tell.
Anyways, I should be packing! Hope you all have a great weekend.
:)
Have fun and good luck to your girls. Hope the arm stays ok.

Good to the Girls too!! My nieces are dancers that do competions. I know how nerveracking that can be. You are wise to tell them just to do their best. IT is suppose to be a fun thing!!

Bummer about dd's arm, but at least it will be protected. Good luck to your girls, have a great wknd, and let us know how everything went when you get back!! :)
Good luck to your girls, have they gone to quite a few competitions this year, how have they been doing?
My dd got into the competitive gymnastics this year and is loving it, came home last weekend with the gold medal all around.

Hi all. Our weekend was wonderful. Both girls danced great, and our oldest dd (who has competed more than our younder dd) won 3 medals this time. She got two 2nd's and a 3rd! Younger dd didn't place at all, but this was only her 2nd time ever competing, so just getting up and trying was great of her.
Dh is even happier....he got a digital camera this weekend and has ordered a new computer...all to be used for his busines, but I am hoping to bum the camera a few times from him! LOL
I'm going to see how many posts I can catch up on. Hope you all had a great weekend.

Hi Fern. Congrats to your dd, she must be so proud of herself!
DD has been doing good at all her competitions. She is slowly moving up in her placings each one she has attended. Now she has set her goal on winning a trophy. I think it has given her the inspiration to practice more! LOL

Wow... CONGRATULATIONS to your dd for doing so well. You must be very proud of both her and your youngest dd. This is my youngest dd's first year since she was 3 years old not being in dance and competing... and we REALLY miss it! It was always SO exciting! I'm glad the trip was a success (it sounds like for everyone) and that you made it back home safely. Thanks for letting us know how it went!
