In our full day program, we plant two small gardens each spring - one flowers, the other veggies. Our kids help decide what to plant, start many of the things from seed inside, help plant, weed water and harvest their garden. It really gives kids who come all summer something to look forward to. We always plant sunflowers and use the seeds to feed to birds in the winter. Pumpkins are a favorite and we usually are able to give each child one for Halloween. Cherry tomatoes are great for a home-grown snack. Can't wait for the weather to warm up so we can get going with this again.:* :* Sandy
