View Full Version : Female problems-men don't read! LOL

As many of you know, I have had a strange Fall/Winter with my female anatomy. Since late Ocotber, I have had cervicitis or bacterial vaganosis at least 4 times. This last time, they put dh on meds too to see if he could be the cause of giving it back to me all these times. I thought this would really do the trick and I felt better. Now I have strange discharge that seems to be eating/irritating the crud out of my vagina base area. Im really worried as to why this problem refuses to heal properly and I keep having problems.

Im at my wits end as to what the problem could be and wanted to open this up here to see if anyone has ever had this and what the cause might be. Im sorry if its graphic, but Im desperate enough to lay it on the table and hope some could shed some light. Thanks in advance!

do you think that the drying and raw ness could be caused from the medications? I mean maybe dh's fluids are irritating you because of the meds?

gosh you have me stumped.....?(

Here is hoping for some answers soon.....Hang in there....and keep us posted on this.... :(

Nope, dh's fluids aren't the cause. This just started yesterday and its an irritating discharge. I just went off meds on Saturday morning too! I have a call into the Gyn. clinic. If they won't call back soon or if they won't see me-Im going to start calling my Dr. back in North Carolina. I hate doing that, since he is doing it out the niceness of his heart and hasn't seen me in over 2 years.

I think I'd go to another doc since this one can't seem to figure out what is going on. Could it be your birth control? Oh wait, your dh had a vasectomy didn't he? I have a friend whose dh is allergic to spermicide but haven't heard of anything like this. Sorry!

I'm stumped, too. As many female problems as I've had, that ain't one of them. I agree with Angie about going to another doc. It's very possible you've been misdiagnosed. Are there any other gyn's you could see? What about those WebMD chats where you can ask the doctor questions? You might look at the site to see what they're upcoming topics are or if they include chats with a gyno. Maybe you could get a better idea of the cause and/or solution.

Hope you figure it out soon. Not fun, not fun at all.

I talked to my GYN from NC yesterday. I gave him a brief case history and he is stumped as to why I keep getting this. He think I might have gotten a tolerance to my med. and wanted me to go back on it for 14days! No more meds. for me. He said I could try and cure the ph balance myself with something called Acigel or boric acid tablets. I would have to take this for a month though. :(

I have to work through the military system and its giving me a headache. Im not aloud to skip to any clinic I want without seeing my primary family practice doctor first and ask him to give me a consult to a specialist. Well, my doctor is a Major and it NEVER around/available and his ego is big enough where he won't give me a consult without seeing him first. I go in today to see a NP who I saw before. Im going to drink a lot of water so I can get every blood test available. This will be my 5th pelvic exam in 6 months too! :(

Ugh, what a pain. Did you by chance change laundry detergent six months ago? Also, have you been put on amoxicillian or penicillan? That can cause a yeast infection too. (i know yours is more than regular yeast, just wondering though)

This was the best and worst visit yet. I had two NP's who were very interested in my case history and were very sympatheitc and determined to find out what is wrong with me. The opening of my cervix is extremely inflamed and that discharge is hurting the rest of me. I must have had every smear you can get! I think they took five of them and most were taken from the infected area of the cervix.:\

If all these tests come out negative, then they are going to put in an order to get my cervix biopised!! They said think of a pap smear, but 10 times worse!! Yeah.... LOL

Ugh! How horrible, Amy!! I really hope this ends for you soon!! :\ How long until you get the test results? Hang in there!!!

Amy, what's an NP?
I have had tons of cervical biopsies. They aren't that bad, but I don't think a pelvic is any big deal either! LOL The hardest part is the position your legs are in, mine always started to wobble. You will feel a pinch, it's not great but it's not awful.

So sorry you're having to go through all of this. But glad the 2 NP's are taking you seriously and trying to determine the cause. Hopefully it won't get to the biopsy stage. Fingers, toes and eyes are crossed! Let us know when the results come in.;)

I go back on Wednesday. All my tests should be in by then. I was originally scheduled to go back on Monday, but one of the NP's wasn't going to be working that day and she wanted to be here when I came back. They may not be M.D.s, but they are really interested and concerned about my case and that beats any clueless family practice male doctor! LOL

There's an NP at my PCP's office and she's awesome. She's the one that found the right combo of drugs to help me quit smoking!!! Even though they're not MD's, they're still very knowledgable, don't have the egos, yet have access to the MD and his/her knowledge. A midwife started dd's delivery, my OB had to step in when it was time for the vacuum, though. And dd sees an NP for her chronic sinus infections. It sounds like they're dedicated to finding out what's wrong with you and fixing it.
Be sure to let us know.
