Special Days

Hi, I'm a Kindergarten teacher from New Zealand (which means I teach 3-5 year olds). We do a lot of speical days where the children get to dress up and we dress the environment up to. Eg: things like Stripes and Spots day, breakfast at Kindergarten, Funny Hat Day and a Beach party. We desperately need new ideas. Can anyone help? Thnaks.??( ?(

Hi Nic....my dd who is in Pre-school here in the States (4-5 year olds) loved P.J. Day, they also did a few weeks on colors...everyday was a different color....fun to try to find clothing in your closets that are orange...:lol: good luck...sounds fun..

Backwards Day (put clothes on backwards....walk backwards...do your daily schedule backwards, etc)

Old MacDonald's Farm Breakfast.....dress up like animals, and serve foods that you would find on a farm.

Occupations.....dress in occupational gear

Silly sock Day

Opposites (wear two different socks...striped top/spotted bottoms)

How about Carnival Day / Circus Day, Backwards Day (start with the last routine of the day), Crazy Hat Day, Character Day (where they dress up like their favourite tv character).

How about WackY Wednesday based on the story! A beach day with a treasure hunt,barbeque and water sprinklers!
Occupations day dressing up in an occupation e.g. mechanic. How about a letter day e.g. B day only thing is contending with 8 Batmans!

One really fun day for us is slumber party. The kids (and I) wear our favorite pajamas to school and bring along a favorite stuffed animal. We pop popcorn, read stories and watch videos all day. This is usually near the end of the year and gives me time to start putting things away for the summer.
