no wonderful remedies here. They adviced gargling with warm salt water for me. Salt is good for sores. I had a friend that used salt on any open sores from his braces. That and drink warm non milk based drinks. I drank hot apple cider. DH drinks tea. And such on hard candies. They also advised staying away from commercial products like cloroseptic spray saying it can prolong things. She did recommend Fisherman's Wharf throat lozengers. I HATED them though and threw them away. Another good one is the celestial seasoning lozengers.
(((HUGS))) I had a friend that swore by gargling Hydrogen Peroxide. Just be sure not to swallow any of it. I've also heard that baking soda and salt helps too. Hope you feel better soon!

Whever I start getting a sore throat I start drinking 6oz. water with two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar along with two tablespoons of honey. Heat it up just a little bit and it doesn't taste as bad, :frog: but it's still bad... 8o Oh yeah... you're suppose to drink this down 3 times a day. :\ Ugh!!!
I hope it's not strep and that your feeling much better. :)

My dr. said that this is a good "rinse" too. It sounds gross~~~ but seemed to do the trick. (I diluted the Hydrogen Peroxide with water.)

OMG... you DRINK this stuff??? 8o Do you like it or do you drink it only because it helps you to feel better? Ugh... I can't stand pickles to say anything about drinking the juice. I'm sure that would make me sicker than I ever possibly could be. LOL If it works for you... go for it!! Ugh... :\ :biglaugh: LOL

I didn't know about hydrogen peroxide for sore throat, but gargling with it is great for your gums.
AND it's an incredible carpet cleaner too! LOL

Maybe you can pick up something quick/easy to bring home for dinner... unless your dh will do the cooking for you. LOL I hate getting a late start on cooking my dinner... I like eating and getting done early. :) LOL Good luck!

You know, after I posted my bit about gargling with Hydrogen Peroxide...I double checked my info. Right on the front of the bottle, it says "for use as an antiseptic gargle or rinse". Can't hurt you anyway. I didn't know about using it for the carpets. Hmmmm.... I think I'll stick with it for sorethroat, tooth ache stuff. (Can't you use it for ear wax build-up, too???? I think it's the first ingredient in the over-the-counter ear stuff.)
