The last few nights I've been waking up at 3 or 4 in the morning wide awake. The only thing I'm doing different is some meds for a sinus infection. Decongestant, antihistamine, antibiotic. Can any of those be causing the insomnia? I do feel a little jumpy during the day but not real bad. TIA if anyone has any info.

yep, sure can, especially a decongestant, acutally so can an antihistamine top! LOL Benadryl always made my kids climb the walls rather than sleepy. Robitussion makes me very jumpy, like having a lot of coffee.

Definitely!! I can't take sinus/allergy medicine after 3pm if I plan on sleeping the night.

Well you think the doctor would have said something to me since the major reason I finally went in was because I couldn't sleep. At least the 4 to 5 hours that I am sleeping seem to be uninterrupted. I don't have any caffeine in my diet so it feels weird to be so wired. I don't think I'll be adding caffeine to my diet any time soon. I think I'll suffer through another night and then tomorrow stop the decongestant-antihistamine and see how it goes. Thanks:)

My dh reacts to medications like that... If he takes anything at all he's all jittery and nervous... :nervous: and up and down most of the night, so then so am I. (kept awake that is... ) Nothing seems to get to me... once I get to sleep I sleep like a baby  except that I only require between 5 to 5-1/2 hours a night anyway.

I hope you get better and will be able to stop taking your meds... I'm sure you'll sleep much better after you do. :)

Diane...

We're like Diane's family. I can take sudafeds and excedrins with a coke and fall straight to sleep. DH would be up all night. And the stuff that is *supposed* to send you to sleep (nyquill) doesn't have any effect on me either.
