MM! Well, I went over with a friend to check out this co-ed gym around the corner. Don't get me wrong; I'm happy with my gym, I just need to get motivated again. I thought switching gyms for a month or so would be helpful. Anyway, my friend tells me about this great personal trainer at this other gym. This has me intrigued, as I'd like a little help. So, we go to the gym and I check it out. Nice, but no air conditioning. Then I meet the trainer and the first thing he tells me is that I need to work on my hips. I felt like telling him off. I look great and feel wonderful and my body isn't out of proportion, 37-29-40, yeah that's 40. I lost 2 &1/2inches in the past 6 months, I'm working on it. My question is, should I go with this guy. He was brutally honest with me and I know that he will continue to be or do I walk away from him and maybe miss having a trainer that is going to push me? ßß!

I'd probably go with him... even if I didn't like what he said. LOL 8o If he's honest, then you can trust that he'll tell you what you NEED to hear, and not just tell you what you WANT to hear. I always found that when I worked for/with people like this... I was always more motivated and always pushed myself to work harder. You'll also know that when he tells you that you look GREAT... he means it!

First of all, sounds like there's nothing wrong with your figure! I'd kill for those measurements! :)
I agree with Diane, though. Even though you'd like to pinch his head off, he may be just what you need to get motivated. I'd try it for at least a month and see if you're getting any results. If not, you can tell him what you really think of him! ;)

Good luck!

He is selling his services, did you expect him to say "OMG, you are perfect, you don't need to be here!!!! LOL ,)
With that said, if you want to be pushed harder, maybe learn some new techniques, can stand the honesty...then I would go for it.

Brutally honest is ok, but he could have waited until you asked what he thought were your spots of improvement...
I think its great that you have a chance to work with a trainer...and someone who is going to push you that you don't have to live with everyday is a plus....

enjoy your new temp. GYM and way to go on getting 2 and 1/2 inches off....I am impressed...

your post got me to thinking and I measured myself...LOL...thanks...:biglaugh: its good to know these things....I love my hips btw...41

Everyone had good advice here. I kind of like that type of hate relationship because negavtive motivation works really well sometimes! LOL

I think you have gotten great advice....if he came out and said you look great, then you wouldn't need his service.

I'd probably go with him because he is definately not intimidated or shy.
