I got my hydration pack today. I got the one Jeff has just b/c it looked easier to wear then the backpack ones. Anyway... I had a much better time!

7.2 miles in 1 hour 3 minutes and 36 seconds.

Woo Hoo!

I'm not sure if it was the hydration, cooler temp, getting in better shape... or some combination of the three, but the run was easier today. I basically kept an 8 minute pace on my .9 of a mile route. The last lap was a bit faster b/c I always like to burn what I have left in the tank. I think that helps me run faster in future runs.

I decided to hydrate myself three times. Once at the beginning of lap 3 , once at lap 5, and once at lap 7.

I love that bag LOL. We went on a 13.1 today. It was a bit disappointing, but expected since I have sloughed off the last month. In March I ran 13.1 in 2:00:59 and could have gone another 5 miles without any prob. Today we did it in 2:08:30 and I wouldn't have run another foot if someone paid me. The hills were the factor that really hurt me. The distance wasn't bad as before but the hills really wiped me out and it took a long time to recover from a couple of them. The good thing is that I know that the mileage I was doing (32-35 a week) was really paying off. I think for the next couple of weeks getting in 20-25 would be good. The longer miles really pay off when dealing with hills etc. but I think it was hampering my times a bit. The other thing that got me today was the heat. I was used to doing teh long runs in temps from 15-40 degrees Farenheit. Think it was about 70 today. Glad we did it though because heat will be a factor the day of the mini. Well I think I am going to go die now.
