Last night as a family, we went to walmart and bought DD a telescope. She has been wanting one since they have been studing space in school. I never knew how many differences and the price cost. We did get the cheaper of all of them.

Now, just wish the clouds will go away. She was out last night till 9:30. We did get to see the moon. Hopefully, we will get a good view of planets tonight.

It looks like we may see some planets tonight. She is so thrilled. We got a free computer program with the telescope that tells what planets are where and out.

We just got a look at the moon. Now, I wish I had more knowledge on this telescope thingy. I don't want to spend the time reading the instructions. DD hasn't either. I suppose that we can just keep playing around with it. I will have to try the different lenses. Don't have a clue what they do.

Ohhh so fun!!

I can believe this. I posted at 7:45 there where no clouds. We came in (hence the post) When we went back out at 8:30. It was total clouds. I couldn't believe it!!!

Hopefully, we can do some star seaching tonight.

Is this to teach me patience!!!!

kacee- Sorry you missed out last night. Your post reminds me of something I heard once:

Want to make God laugh?? Tell Him you've got a plan.

Sorry you got clouded out, but better luck tonight. A telescope can be so much fun when you figure out how to work it. My best friends father had one when we were kids. We got to see all kinds of neat things. When there was an eclipse, he put a card under the part you look in and the reflection showed on the card so we could watch the whole thing without damaging our eyes.

A few years ago we spent over $300.00 for one for our middle dd... 8o For a few years she used it quite a bit and it really was quite awesome. Now it's packed away in her closet... but I'm sure she's planning on taking it out again for the summer. It's a really good telescope and it's amazing how much you can see.

I hope the clouds clear up soon so your dd can enjoy it a little bit more.
