Good morning everybody!!! I started out my day real good... I saw my first robin. We still have TONS of snow on the ground with a little grass starting to show, but it was nice to see some kind of an indication that Spring had sprung. LOL NOw I can't wait until my bulbs start coming up.
I can't believe it's Wednesday already... the week is going by so fast, which is okay because I'm anxious for the weekend. Looks like it's going to be another nice day today though... up to 45 degree's. I know... Ann would still be thinking that that's awfully cold... but not me. That's nice compared with what we've had. Anyway, I hope you all have a great Wednesday. Have a good day! :)

and it is a grey day here but so far no rain or snow (although they are saying we might get some later). I can't wait for the real spring days to come. We've had such a gloomy winter. Maybe if I sing "Mr. Sun" he'll come out and visit. What do you think????? LOLOLOLOL
I agree Marla. I'm also in Ontario (southern) and it sure is nice to at least see the sun. I'm hoping the forecast for snow is wrong, LOL.

It HAS to work if we all sing, "Mr Sun", doesn't it? LOL! It rained a little here last night and I didn't even care because I was just glad it wasn't snow!! :) Have a good day everyone!

Mr sun, sun mr. golden sun, please shine down on me.....
LOL
It is going to hit 60 here today and it is a beautiful sunshine day! I feel like the "southerner" here in Indiana. I thought about going to the zoo but with dd still recovering from yet another ear infection I thought we'd better stay home.
I am going to spend another day trying to get through to the "tickets" for Oprah Winfrey Show. busy, busy, busy....
Have a great day all!! I hope your snow melts and the rain goes away.

Renee... I hear you with the muddy dog paw's. I no sooner scrubbed my kitchen floor, let the dog in and I have perfect paw marks all over it. LOL Ugh!!!!!!! I guess I'm going to have to get a rug by the door and teach her how to wipe her paws. (MY new in-law's had taught their dog to do this) It doesn't work real well with the light colored carpet. I'll be happy when it dries up outside a little bit but I don't see that happening none too soon. The sun is shining though and the snow is melting fast... so I could be wrong. (hoping) Their worried about flooding, but I don't have to worry about in the area I live but feel for those who do. What a mess!!! Anyway... I think I'm going to go open a few window's. :) (I've already got my shorts on. LOL)

It isn't too bad here today. It was supposed to feel chilly and dreary with snow or rain or a mix this afternoon. It is a bit dreary but it doesn't feel cold. I am more than happy we have plus signs instead of the minus now. We have a ton of snow as well but the grass is starting to show around the sidewalks. I have heard the birds much more in the last week compared to usual too.
Marla, I'm in east Ont.

Good luck on tickets. Let us know. My MIL went to her show a few years ago and said Oprah and her staff were just fabulous.

It rained here today. The weather was cold too. I hope that spring gets here soon. I haven't seen any signs yet.

The weather's been great the last couple of days, but last I heard it was calling for rain and light flurries over night. I hope they are wrong.
The playground at work has been basically off limits for the last week. It get warm during the day and melts some of the snow, then gets cold at night and turns it into a skating rink. My class outdoor time is 8:30am, so it hasn't had much chance to thaw yet. We are out again at 2:30 but by then it is too wet. Lots of walks lately.
It should be all dried up by early April but thats when they are starting the playground renovations to bring everything up to code, so it will be closed off again. If I could get the little munchkins to walk faster then leisurly stroll speed maybe we could work this into a weight loss regimen.

Hi all. We woke up to more snow this am! And cold....it was -13C today and it supposed to hit -19 tonight!!!!! What an insult to the first day of spring!
Had a talk with dd teacher that we had a problem with a couple of weeks ago. BTW, she let dd and her friend re-write the test and dd got an 82%-quite a difference from the 0% she would have had otherwise. We are hoping things will run smoothly for the rest of the year, but gut instinct tells me it won't. She took away the grade 5's soccer balls yesterday (after being hit in the head with one....and get this, my daughter had kicked it!) Dd didn't kick it at the teacher...she was just kicking it back to the grade 6's, but the teacher was in the wrong place at the wrong time. UGH! She has told them all that they have to learn how to play soccer properly ie. kicking it with the side of their foot and aim, not just random kicking as KIDS do at recess! My god, they are just kids and with winter, playing soccer was their best recess activity. Guess we may have to speak to the principal again.
Off to a parent council meeting tonight....not one I am looking forward to. We will be helping organize the memorial service for the teacher who was killed 10 days ago. Friday will be a rough day for all involved.
Otherwise a good day! LOL

Glad to hear dd got to retake her test. What luck at being the one to hit the teacher in the head! Ugh! Hopefully things will continue to get better with the teacher otherwise it can make for a long and uncomfortable year. Hope your mtg went well tonight and that Friday goes well for all of you involved with the memorial service. What a sad time. :(

Darlene, how very tragic. It seems like so many things that you ladies have shared here, I've lived through too. We lost a teacher this year over Christmas Break when she and 2 of her 5 children died in a house fire. She was my BILs cousin and he and my sister were part of the first responders to arrive at the scene. That was the hardest funeral I have ever attended.
My heart and prayers go out to you.

I'm glad to hear that your dd was able to retake her test... I'm sure wondering why this lady decided to become a teacher because it sure doesn't sound like she enjoys or understands kids very well. She's needs to remember that these are only kids and not adults. Perhaps she should start thinking about getting into another field of work. LOL
I read your post about the teacher getting killed... how sad! I can't remember if you mentioned what grade she taught. Her students will surely miss her. I hope their all handling what happened well. Best of luck with the memorial!
