I joined a new fitness place today called Curves...has anyone heard of it? One just opened up not far from me so I wanted to give it a try. Interesting concept....here's the link if you want to check it out.

I only joined for a month to see if I like it

I have a friend who goes to Curves. She loves it! Says the 30 minute format is perfect for her, and she's really toned up. Let us know how you like it....I've considered joining, but with my dh travelling alot, it's not always easy for me to get a sitter on a regular basis. I may join for the summer months. Can't wait to get your opinion.

I am going for my first workout on Monday...I can't wait. I am hoping that I will be able to go workout on my lunch hour...30 minutes of workout, fast shower, back within the hour.

I really like that you can go to any Curves location too.

We just had one open here too! I've heard good and bad things about it. Great workout, but people here are finding that noonhours and after work are way too busy to get in and out quickly. Ours is set up in a small spot though. Careful with the memberships.....talk around here is that you can't go month by month....you have to commit to a min 6 month period with no refunds if you change your mind after a short time.

Let me know what you think though!

I had to pay a start up fee (which you have to at most clubs), but for an opening special, I got 66% off that price. She offered two options...pay monthly for a committed 12 months, or pay $10.00 more and pay month to month with no committments. I'm starting out just for the next month, and then I'll decide what I want to do.

So far I really like it. You definately work up a sweat, and get your cardio going as well. Also, I am definately feeling it in muscles already.... :yippee:

I did the 2 day Hollywood liquid diet last week, and started Curves, and believe it or not the scale has finally moved down about 4 pounds :D

Go ahead Renee, be nosey :newwink:

The drink is a mixture of a whole bunch of vitamins, juices, etc and sugar....which gives you energy :bounce: (like Ann had said in an earlier post).

You actually don't drink that much of it. You have to dilute 120 ml of the juice concentrate with 120 ml of water, and sip it over 4 hours (so you get the vitamins, juices, etc. over a period of time). You repeat this process 4 times a day. (I actually only did it 3 times on the second day, and a light dinner instead).

I felt great, just had to run to the bathroom tons....you are supposed to drink at least 8 full glasses of water.

Felt really good, not overly hungry (but did avoid the kitchen while dh and the kids were eating just in case), and chewed a lot of sugarless gum.

It looks like it gave me the boost I needed.
