I've given up the dream of running the Mini at a high speed, now I'm just looking to finish it again! I still have not run since my 10 mile gig, and I'm trying to come up with a game plan. I think I'll do the following:
Sunday- 5-mile run
Monday- 2 mile walk
Tuesday- 8 mile run
Wednesday- 2 mile Walk
Thursday- 5-mile run
Friday- Rest
Saturday- Race!
I may rest on Thursday as well, but I feel like I've got to get my body some mileage this week. Unless dw goes in to labor today, I will run today! It is a high priority! (And pretty cool outside to boot!) :cool:

Well... I didn't actually start the way I wanted, but... I'M RUNNING AGAIN!!!
Sunday Off :(
Monday 3.5 mile run
Tuesday 5 mile run
Wednesday 8 mile run
Thursday rest
Friday rest
Saturday race

Just don't give up!! You can do this. Sounds like you have a great plan. I put in my 3 miles today. (Ok I am walking, but it is at least moving.)

You may have to carry me half the way. I haven't run in two weeks because of a shin splint. Seems to be about taken care of. I may try to do a short run Wed. just so my body doesn't go into complete shock on Saturday.

Thanks for all the well wishes Kacee, RCT, Diane P! Imamama and others have been there as well, and I really appreciate the support! Once my job situation is settled I'll try to come on here and actually give some support rather then absorb it!
Jeff... shin splints absolutely blow. There are some great exercises out there, but rest and ice can really help. Make sure you have some decent shoes as well. Crappy shoes can encourage splints. What kind of shoes do you wear? I'd look at a motion control shoe. Saucony makes several that are also pretty reasonably priced. I have a bit of a wide foot, so I'm a New Balance fan!

Good for you too Kacee... :yippee: Walking is great exercise! It's too bad you don't live a little closer to me... we could talk/walk together. :)
