View Full Version : Can I brag just a little?
Today Tristan rode a two wheeler! We are so happy. He said he wanted to do it, and so with the weather so beautiful we thought, cool! DH took him to the park with both his "big" bike and the "little" one, and took the training wheels off both. Tristan started with the little one, and after getting a push off from dad, got it on the FIRST try! After just a couple of tries, he was going all around the park. He then switched to the big bike, and same thing! Just took off. It took a couple of tries to get down starting on his own, but once he figured that out there was no stopping him. As we were leaving he said "Please don't put the training wheels back on my bike, okay?" We assured him they were gone for good! Sigh...my baby is growing up! Amy

How exciting!!! :) How old is Tristan? This something we will be working on with ds this summer. It makes me so nervous. I picture scraped up knees and I hate it. :( Way to go, Tristan!! :) :) :)

Congratulations to Tristan! It's been a while but I remember how proud I felt the first time my kids were able to ride a two wheeler without their training wheels. I remember when my kids learned how to ride their bikes I couldn't get them off... they rode around in the cul-de-sac ALL day long for days and days. It was the first thing they'd ask to do in the morning when they woke up. LOL They LOVED their bikes. It's so funny because I remember the day I learned how to ride a bike (without training wheels) like it was yesterday. My sister hiked me up on a bike that was much too big for me, gave me a good push and away I went. LOL Yep... your baby is growing up. Enjoy! :)

Way to go Tristan! I remember the day all our kids learned how to ride a two wheeler.
Ah, they grow up so fast.
:)
Thanks, girls! Tristan will be five in May. He is just thrilled, telling me he wants to ride his bike again tomorrow. So sweet.
Such a big step....ds wants his training wheels off this summer, and dd wants a bike not a tricycle....LOL...how fun, now he is mobile.....tell him congradulations on his accomplishment....

Of course you can brag. That is what we are here for. Tell Tristan way to go. I can't wait until I have children to share this wonderful experience with.

Way to go Tristan!!!!
dd was just 3 1/2 when she first scooted off on a neighbors two wheeler, so dh quick went out and bought her one of her own. ds is scared to get on even with training wheels. He will be five the beginning of May. We don't want to push him to do it if he is scared but don't want him left behind when all his friend are out riding. We'll have to work on it once all this snow melts. It's going down pretty quickly now!
