SpongeBob Party help!!

Okay, all of you SpongeBob fans....I need ideas for ds's party! :D We are actually having a kid party and a family party. Any clever ideas? I found a SpongeBob pinata and Shrinkydinks. Dh wants to grill burgers, I mean, Krabby patties for the family party. Any fun ideas to go with that or what to do for the kid party? :D

How about buying some yellow sponges and letting the kids glue those foam shaped pieces on them....to create their own SpongeBob (or SpongeNick....SpongeJustin....etc!). Maybe have a wet sponge tossing contest. Dance to the SpongeBob CD (there is a cute CD out right now....only 6 songs, I believe. My dks love it! Has the theme song...the F.U.N. Song...the Loopty Loo (Tying Shoes song) ...etc).

You guys are so good!! I love the pin the nose on Squidward idea and the sponge decorating idea! I may have to suggest the theme for dd's bday, lol! :lol:

Seems like Spongebob and Patrick are always blowing bubbles, maybe you can include that as an activity. Should be fun to decorate with the sea theme. At one point Oriental Traders Magazine had pineapple cups for kids that were really cute, maybe something like that for them to take home, full of goodies? Make sure you give us full details of what you do!

Well, we went into Walmart last night and the first thing we saw was a SpongeBob piñata...so guess what kind of party WE'RE having now! LOL! Let me know if you come up with any more ideas, Karla!

An enthusiastic young guy in the music department found the SpongeBob cd for me and was so excited about our party--told me about a cool poster they have and talked about different episodes of the show and went on and on about how I can buy a bubble machine and hang fish lanterns and blue sheets to give the room an under water feel. LOL! Great ideas...but I'm not sure I'd go to that extent with kids ranging from 1-7 years old! Would be cool, though!

Sounds like the guy had fun ideas, but like you don't know how far I want to go. Dh had some students make a SpongeBob bulletin board for him, so I told him to have them do the charachters again so we could hang them up at the party - we'll see if it gets done. I think they could make one big enough to do pin the nose on Squidward. :)

Target has SB invites, etc although ours were recently clearanced out. We have the pinata and I also found SB ShrinkyDinks at KMart. I thought about making blue jello and putting in gummy octopus (how do you make that plural? LOL!) and fish. Haven't gotten much further than that with my planning, but I'll let you know. I also have SB goodie bags and stickers to put in those along with SB Cheese Nip crackers and Nickelodeon fruit snacks with SB on the front. :) I like the bubble idea, so I think I'll go out and get those to stick in there, too.

Love the jello idea! I'll definitely do that one! :) Saw something similar on Zoom--they put blueberries in the bottom of clear plastic cups and then added jello (blue and green mixed to make an aqua color, but I used blue). Then when the jello was half set, they put apple slices cut into the shape of fish into the cups. Too cute. Only problem was that my blueberries didn't sink, so I had to leave them out.

Walmart was out of the invitations and big plates, so I'll try Target. I'll look for the shrinky dinks at K-mart, too!
