Is anyone still geting the virus emails? We found two different viruses on our computer and got them off. My IB email addy is still getting them on a daily basis. Like Ann said earlier, if you don't have up to date virus protection it won't catch the viruses because the 2 I had were pretty darn new and our out of date protection didn't detect them.
I get at least one weird email a day, but my virus scan isn't showing anything.

Same for me.

I don't use my IB mail box at all. Hotmail automatically scans for viruses, and my other e-mail address blocks senders I don't know.

Usually our main addy is spam free, so when we started getting crap there this past wknd I knew something was up. My sil sends a million fwds/attachments a week - how do I tell her to quit without offending her??? I don't even open them anymore, but it's so tiring when that's all we get from her. :tearhair:

I am too all of a sudden - at least the porno ones have stopped!
you may have trojan and spyware installed on your system that you aren't aware of. Run an internet security program. Mine came with Mcafee Security. That could be the prob as well as why some of your systems are slowing down.
My system isn't running slowly. I have adaware, the one that came with McAfee wasn't free.
Would a trojan be causing all these weird emails?

Did those of you who had the W.Klez virus ever totally get rid of it?
Dh is going to help me tonight, I hope. Norton A/V says it's difficult to get rid of.
Arrrggggghhhhh
Amy got infected with it, think it took alot of work, but she is clean.
What did it do to your system?
Fortunately, it tried, but didn't get me! LOL

It hasn't "done" anything to the system yet - but it does affect your anti-virus program so it's leaving me vulnerable to other junk out there.
It never says that I am infected, but when I went into Symatec and printed out the history, it showed that I got infected on April 25th and exactly where it is (2 places).
I'd been getting weird emails daily from people I didn't know (haven't gotten one in a day or two now) so that tipped me off.
I imagine it's in my address book and could possibly be sending out emails from my supposedly.... haven't heard from anyone.

Oh, you hit on a huge pet peeve of mine! LOL! I don't like forwards either--I have an odd sense of humour, so most jokes aren't funny to me and chain letters are the worst! And I have told people point blank (and not always nicely) to stop sending me crap, but they ignore me. So...I've now set a filter to put all mail with "fwd" and "fw" in the subject line directly into the trash, so I never even see them!

Ooh, now I know how to get to you - I can send you a bunch of fwds, but change the subject lines! :newwink: :D
Love the filtering idea! :thumb: Fwds drive me nuts!! :crazyroll

Depends on your e-mail program. I do it in Yahoo and Hotmail, but I'm sure you can do it in Outlook (haven't had to do it there yet!) and other e-mail programs. Open your e-mail program and do a search in "help" for "filter" and see what comes up.
For Outlook Express, go to tools, message rules and then just fill in the blanks.

After I posted that, I started poking around and man! you can delete a lot of stuff! I actually had all emails with fw and fwd flagged to 'not download from the server' - I'm guessing by that, they won't even hit my system - even the deleted file or recylce bin... or am I wrong? (What am I saying? ME wrong???? LOL)
I feel kinda bad, but I added the names of two people to have their mail do the same thing!!
