Just wondering how you all feel about this - would you really rather be with the kids or have a 'day off' without them on Mother's Day?

Don't be ashamed to say a day off - I'm hearing from mom's around here they'd be just as happy to be alone and not have a day of "Mooooooommmmm, could you......." or "Mooooooommmmm, where's......" etc.

I love having alone time but luckily my kids are reaching the point were they let me have it even when we're at home alone.

Tomorrow will unfortunately be spent working. The whole family is having to spend time spucing up the house to put it on the market.

I'd have to say with the kids. Now, if a day off were to be given as a Mother's Day gift, to be "spent" another day, that'd be great!

Day off! Actually, I get plenty of alone time, so what I would want more is no fighting! LOL

Can I have both??? I'll spend the morning with them (opening my sweet school made gifts!) and then enjoy a yummy brunch. Then I get to spend the afternoon by myself, bumming around, shopping, etc! Sounds perfect!

Good combination of both! And politically correct too!!
I think I'd pick the same.

I love spending time with my kids... and seeing they are out of the fighting and arguing about everything age... I don't have to deal with those kind of problems anymore. Actually... what I would REALLY like would to be able to stay in bed and sleep in until noon... no disturbances or interruptions... nobody asking or expecting anything from me. A good cup or two of coffee... a good book and then it would be fun to go out to lunch with just my dh and girls... no boyfriends, just having them all to myself... which is something that very seldom ever happens. :) LOL

I hope that whatever your plans are... you all have a HAPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!!

Some alone would be nice, but I love being with the kids.

We are off to a Mothers day brunch in the AM, Then DH works in the afternoon so it will be just the kids and I. We are going to my twin cousins B day party, and since my Mom will be there thats when I will give her, her gift.

Hope you all have a Happy Mothers day.

Sounds like a great combination. Actually, we're having the in-laws over for a very simple breakfast (our big gathering fell apart, so it will just be them), and then getting together with my family for dinner. Maybe I'll be able to find some "me" time in between.

My two sisters and I are taking my mom out to Old Country Buffet for lunch today... I won't be celebrating Mother's Day with my dd's until a little later. I still don't know what they've got planned... ?( ?( ?( but I'm hoping that after eating out for lunch it doesn't include eating out again. LOL I'm sure whatever is planned... we'll all have a good time. :)

Wonderful plan with the addition of Ann's no fighting request....it's amazing what my dks can find to fight about within the first 5 minutes of each day! LOL!

Definatly with my kids. I treasure every moment we have together and with all their sports activities and school, and clubs I sometimes feel I never see dd#1 and ds#1.
We make all special days, family days and keep them as special as possible.
