Cheap, simple centerpieces

I'm not asking for too much now, am I? :)

The Daisy and Brownie troops are to make 20 centerpieces for the local nursing home this week. I need ideas, please.
We HAVE to keep it cheap due to the end of the year w/our budgets and the fact that we have to make 20.

If you can throw some ideas this way, please do - I'd be very appreciative.

My favorite is tissue paper flowers poked through the bottom of a plastic cup. Even little ones can make the flowers, and they can decorate the cups with paint, markers, or stickers. Can't get any cheaper than that, and they are bright and colorful. If you want something fancier or longer lived, wait until Diane and Karla and the others craft wizards get up in the morning....They'll be full of ideas. I'm a specialist on cheap and easy. LOL
