Party favor ideas

Next week my dd turns 3! I need party favors for the guests at her little party and wonder if anyone has seen any good ideas...I hate to spend money on junk, even if it's not much money! :( I am thinking of something like a small bouncing ball plus??? Last year, special bubble blowers went over well... We are having boys and girls, so we need gender-neutral gifts or equivalent specific gifts...

A new sand pail and shovel? We gave out Hershey "make your own chocolate bar" kits at one of dd's party and they were a huge hit. Good skipping rope, sidewalk chalk, gel pens, fun frame with polaroid of bday girl and guests, small book, etc.
