Morning! Got up and did my excercises and got dd and dh off. I'm headed to school shortly for a volunteer breakfast and then I'll be checking on a couple of my boss's stores for her.
This afternoon, I'll be pulling stuff out to pack for the beach this weekend - YAHOO!!!

Hope you guys have a good hump day! :D

I am missing some posts! They are coming up in my "view new posts" :(
Watching the final Rosie while I am on the treadmill today. Running errands, dd has her softball team party at 5 and then the last game at 6:30.

Crazy day around here today. Almost all of my daycare parents overslept this morning... so here I sit with hardly any kids. LOL They'll all be here a little bit later, but hopefully not all at the same time. :) Thought it was strange that they all happened to oversleep on the same day/morning. :) LOL I wish I had known... then I could have stayed in bed a little longer too. 8o

Nothing much planned for my day. After my dck's go down for their quiet time today... a few of my neighbor's are coming over for coffee and some home made cookies that I made last night. Were planning a neighborhood block party... which is something we haven't had in a long long time. 8o It will be a great opportunity to get to know some of those new neighbor's that have moved in... I didn't get to Menards last night like I wanted to so I'm going to try to get there tonight. They've got a smaller patio set on sale... and I want to go see how good/sturdy it is. 8o

Hope you all have a great day today!!!

Diane, what fun! We just love our block parties!!! How are you doing yours? We have everyone bring an appetizer usually. Sometimes, we will cook hot dogs/hamburgers and then everyone brings a side.

I'm not too sure yet... hopefully we'll get that worked out this afternoon. :) Four of the neighbor's have offered their grills... so I know that we'll definitely be cooking hot dogs/hamburgers. :licklips: This is something I had wanted to do last summer... but things happened and, it didn't... so I was determined that we were going to do it this year. I'm just hoping we have a good turn out. :)

Another windy day it looks like. It has gone dramatically down from yesterday but it's supposed to pick up this afternoon again. There was even a car accident somewhere in the state because of the low visibility from the blowing dust. Some gusts got up to 60mph! 8o

Need to seriously figure the checkbook--I despise that job more than anything. Also need to keep on laundry and get some Avon stuff done.

I woke up before 7 and wasn't able to get back to sleep, so maybe a nap will be in store this afternoon.

Have a great day all!!

Diane, when we did our first one where we grilled..every family contributed $5 or brought what they wanted to throw on the grill, their own drinks and a side. We set up a couple of tables and had all the food out. We did games for the kids..sack races, balloon toss, 3 legged races. It was great fun.
One year, we had a "decorate your own table" contest. People decorated their card table however they wanted.

Not much going on here. It's windy, so I think ds and I will stay inside today. Oldest ds is still at my mom's. I called this morning and he claims he still isn't ready to come home!! 8o He won't talk to me on the phone either! :( My mom said he has just been having the best time and she thinks if he talks to us he may get homesick? I miss him!! :bawling: This is just not like him at all, but it's been great to see him become a little more independant lately so I guess we'll let him stay until he's ready to come home....hopefully that will be soon!!! :)

Diane - Have fun planning your neighborhood get together!!!

Hi all. Just trying to catch up around here. We were away for the long weekend for dd's dance competition. She did great...her first novice comp and she placed 2nd in one dance and 5th in another. Considering she was competing against some dancers as much as 3 years older than her, we were very proud of her results. She finished 5th out of 12 dancers!

Can't believe the CRAZY weather around here! Yesterday it was +27C (approx 85F) and today is it +2C (around 34F)! And it is supposed to snow tonight! AAARRGGHHH!!!! By the weekend it is supposed to be back up to around +22C but as with almost every day this spring it will be windy! The fire department is going crazy with all the grass/bush fires lately. There is a total ban on open fires right now.
I don't think summer is ever going to arrive....heck at this point I'd settle for spring like weather!

Jennifer can I come to the beach with you????

:)

I forgot to tape it :bawling: how was it?

It was Pause for Cause day at work today....we all had to clean out the entire office. We have a huge room that is used for many different things : playgroups, parenting classes, meeting, childrens groups. Any ways, it was a disaster, and I said to everyone that it needed to be rearranged so it would be more funtional. They all kind of laughed and said, okay if you think you can do better than this...go for it.

Well, I can't resist a challenge, and I used all my education from Trading Spaces, and created a much more functional room. Everyone couldn't believe how great it looked....I only wish I had a can of paint ;)

I have writer's cramp from all the work I did today. I filled out report cards, permanent records, diplomas, awards, and end of the year reports. Finally all the adminisrative tasks are done. Tomorrow we have awards ceremonies, early lunch, and wrap up another year. All I'll have to do is label all my furniture with room # and pack up my desk. Janitor came in today and said my walls looked great so I don't have to take anything down. Plus all my centers stay in tack because I'm teaching summer camp and will be using my room. That's always such a pain to put away.

Think I'll get to bed early tonight. Tomorrow will be bittersweet.

Our school is out on Friday, and I have already told my kids to expect me to be a basket case. I just know that they are going to to forget me next year. :bawling: The ones that I have really gotten to know through subbing are going out to eat with me today, and I have written each of them their own special letter. I know it sounds kind of corny, but I have subbed so much for this one eighth grade class that I have bonded with them so much, and I will be subbing for that class the last day of school. YEAH!!!!
