If you could have free, unlimited service for 5 years from an extremely good cook, chauffeur, housekeeper, masseuse, or personal secretary, which would you choose?
I'd pick the housekeeper, but I'm wondering how I could actually give it up after 5 years!! LOL!!

I don't care that much about food, like to drive, don't love being touched by strangers, and organize myself pretty well. I'd definitely pick the housekeeper. After 5 years, well, dds will be in college or beyond......I'd be willing to clean up my own mess!!!
When does my housekeeper arrive???

the personal secretary so she could take care of the housework and hire a wonderful chef, make all the appointments and basically I would have a wife...;)

Would the personal secretary take care of the bookwork and bills? If so I go for that. Just give me my 'allowance' and I'll be happy!!! :)
Definitely the cook. It's not that I hate cooking, it's the repetition and lack of flexibility in the chore that gets to me. 3 meals a day, everyday. I can do the other chores whenever I have the time, dh is a great masseuse, and I don't really do a lot of chauffeuring yet.
Sheryl:)
Hands down I'd go with the housekeeper. I've never replaced mine since she hurt her back in a car accident and I definitely miss having one. Dh says I need one because w/o I'm too cranky. But Linda had a better idea - We all need a wife!
Have the housekeeper, would go with a cook for the same reason as Sheryl.

I need the housekeeper! We can always go out to eat otherwise that would be my second choice. I don't think anyone can do my personal organizing better than I can. Since I stay it my kid's activities a chauffeur would be wasted. A masseuse would be nice but right no the housekeeper is necessary!!!

Can I hire a painter or decorator instead? Or a Declutterer/Home Organizer?
Given the choices only, I'd probably go for the personal secretary.
Oh! Definitely, definitely the housekeeper. Live-in. Like Hazel or Alice. Heck, I'd even settle for Uncle Charlie from My Three Sons!

I think that I would have to choose the housekeeper too. Although the others sound just as wonderful!!:)

Housekeeper! I wouldn't want a live-in though. I enjoy my time alone.

I prefer to do my own housekeeping, I'm picky, but right now every little moment seems to be filled and I;m falling behind, so I guess a"housekeeper" it will have to be. By then the wee3 will be in school and I will have more time to do the things myself.
Ryliegh, I here you on the being picky. Me too. One reason mine hasn't been replaced. You really have to trust someone to give them the key to your home. I also like the cleaning done my way. (That is my major fault - too, too picky about how things get done)
I love the Hazel, Alice, or Uncle Charlie idea - then they could cook and do laundry too.

I'm also too picky to want someone else cleaning my house... plus the fact that I actually enjoy cleaning my own house. 8o I'd definitely have to choose the cook. It seems like I never have enough time in my busy day to plan my meals... to say nothing about cooking them. I'm usually running around at the last minute trying to decide what I have time to cook and then I run around like a crazy lady trying to get it cooked/done before it get's too late. I'd love to be able to sit down and eat right after I'm done working... and then do what I want to do for the rest of the evening. If it were just me... I'd be happy with just soup and a sandwhich or just a salad mostnights, but when everyone else wants/expects more... you feel obligated to make more. Definitely the cook. I hope that includes doing the dishes. LOL

Diane, I love sandwiches too. I think I could eat them every night. I also don't mind leftovers. We had Karla's Creamy Italian Chicken last night and again tonight (though everyone else complained) and I have enough left still for another meal. I could eat it for lunch and supper again tomorrow, but I guess I'll wait till Tuesday.

I think that if they had to do their own cooking each/every night, they'd be more willing to eat leftovers too. LOL I know when my oldest dd lived at home, eating left overs was unheard of... no way!!! 8o Now that she's been away from home for a few years and has had to do her own cooking/cleaning... she's a LOT more willing to eat any leftovers she can find.. LOL
