View Full Version : Album of the Year
This weekend I bought the soundtrack for Oh Brother Where Art Thou. I love it! It so reminds me of get togethers with my family growing up when someone always had a guitar, a banjo and a cheap amplifer. There'd be dancing til the wee hours of the morning and not unheard of to have a little white lightening.
Dh can't fathom how this is album of the year. He comes from such a totally different upbringing than I had. Ds thought it was "hokey", but since he watched the movie a couple of times, and we actually sang a couple of the songs in church Sunday (someone else must have gotten the album too)
:biglaugh: he's beginning to like it and will even play a couple of the songs over and over in the car.
Probably not a favorite of too many of "ya'll", but the music holds tons of memories for this country girl.
Saw the movie and thought it was good and strange. The same goes for the music. LOL Being from the North, you don't EVER get exposed to that kind of music.
Growing up I was tormented with Nat King Cole and all those oldies from the 40's and early 50's.

HEY!!! I think this experience has been just what Renee wanted. She got a chance to get some new (and wonderful!!) ideas and perspective. You west-coasters are darn lucky to be getting her back. If she stayed much longer, she'd never go back. As it is she'll miss the rational discourse! ROFL!!
Renee- Just go along with me on this......ok? ;)
