Mickey,
How was ds's home school kindergarten graduation? What exactly did it entail? I read about it in the homeschool forum, and thought that it was such a neat idea. (one that I will put in my little file to remember when I have children and if I decide to homeschool- which is also why I am wondering what it entailed) I am sure that it will be something that he will treasure forever.
:Party:Congrats to your ds and everyone else's that graduated this year!!!!!

Thanks so much for asking, Leigh! It was SOOOOOOO cute!!! There were 12 kids--they marched in to a chant about learning to the tune of "Sound Off" (accompanied by a drum). They went up onto the stage (MonkeyBoy was right in the middle). The only thing I wasn't thrilled about was the next part--someone was supposed to give a ten-minute speech, but 30 minutes and three speakers later... Just way too long. The kids did very well, but started to get very restless (so was I! LOL!). After the speeches, the kids each went up to the microphone in the middle of the stage and told everyone their favorite things about Kindergarten. A couple of kids read and one played the cello. They received their diplomas one by one and then balloons fell from above and a mom in my home school support group played Pomp and Circumstance on the violin as the kids walked out...it was just too sweet! :) Before the ceremony, photos were taken and we had a party afterwards. The kids had a ball!

Sounds like it was a blast. I know what you mean about speakers though, because I can't sit still very long either.

Not sure what the heck they were thinking with the speakers!
People don't dress up here in Nevada and Monkey was so excited about his new dress clothes! He had a long-sleeved dress shirt with black pants and a tie and kept referring to it as his "tuxedo"! LOL!
Thanks again, Leigh!
