I can tell by the lack of posts, that ya'll must be having a hard time getting here too!
Tonite dd and I are going to see the musical Beauty and the Beast...we are both so excited!!!! We have season tickets with two other couples, so the other moms and I are taking our dd's and going out to dinner first. Can't wait!!!!

What was the deal with the site? I woke up at 1:30, and finally gave up on trying to get back to sleep at 2:30. I figured I could post enough to make up for my selective and infrequent postings lately. I couldn't get in. Do you know how quiet it is at my house at 3 am? Wow!!
I am now completely exhausted, but hey! It's the weekend, and I don't have plans. I'll catch up on sleep. Dd 2 and 3 are going to my sister's college reunion (to babysit for my neice, who is just the cutest thing, but not really welcome at the adults-only functions!), and dd1 has plans with 'the boy'. It should be pretty peaceful around here....except for my snoring.
AnnW- Have fun at the musical!! Sounds great!
Renee- Hope your SIL is okay. Great job on getting the lawn done in time to enjoy this beautiful weather.

Spent the entire day outside with dks and even got the lawn mowed! :yippee: I think I filled over 100 water balloons for them - they had a blast! Was a beautiful sunny day and now I can hear thunder rumbling in the distance. :) No plans for tonight. My friend that had a baby last week is coming over tomorrow night and we're grilling out. Her mom is still in town, but I thought they'd enjoy a night off from cooking ~ should be a fun evening. :)

I didn't even know that the site was down. 8o I just haven't really had a lot of time to be here plus the fact that I injured my right hand and my finger's still aren't working the best, so it's pretty slow going right now. It seems to be getting better each/every day but it's still not quite 100%. If it doesn't improve soon I may end up having to go back to the doctor...

My oldest dd who moved back home decided to do her laundry the other night and forgot to take a pen out of her scrubs... 8o It evidently got through the washing machine just fine but blew up when it was in the dryer. 8o Oh... I can't tell you the mess we had. Ink all over her clothes... all over the inside of the dryer. 8o Ugh Dh worked on cleaning the dryer while I helped her work on the clothes... at 2:00 AM I decided I'd had enough and went to bed and was back up by 6:30 and worked on them a little more until I was finally satisfied with the way everything looked. Needless to say, by bedtime last night I was more than ready, and I slept like a little baby. :) Yep... dd is definitely home. LOL :biglaugh:

Tomorrow dh and I will be celebrating our 28th wedding anniversary. :yippee: I'm going to get up a little early to run my mom on her errands and maybe take her out to lunch and hopefully have her dropped off back at her house shortly after noon... and I'll spend the rest of the day with my dh. Not too sure what were going to be doing to celebrate yet even if we just stay home and do yard work together... it's fine with me. :)

Otherwise... nothing too much has been going on around here. I've been trying to get things put together for my dd's shower next Saturday. I'm "helping" one of her friend come up with some new/different games to play (I HATE games) and haven't really come up with any that I thought were fun/cute. Know of any?? 8o

Anyway... I hope you are all having a great Friday. Take care!

Must have been the day to mow the lawns. That's what I did too. Just another glorious low humidity, low 80's temperature day. I drink in every bid of time outside when we aren't humid. Spent time in my gardens and enjoyed some reading time on the front porch. We are heading out to dinner here in a little bit. I'm hoping to go by Lowes to look at some plants to go in beds around the garage and maybe a bench of some kind for the vegetable garden. It's a small one but sure looks like we will have all the veggies we'll be able to eat. Looking forward to them all coming on. I'm just afraid it will happen the week I'm gone to camp. Dh knows nothing about canning and/or freezing.

Hello all,

I tried to get on here this morning too, and now I finally got a chance to try again.

Had no dck's today and it was also a school holiday. So DK's and I took the van to get a trailer hitch put on. It was only supossed to take an hour but 3hrs later it still wasn't on. We did alot of walking and waiting.
Walked to the mall while we waited and had lunch then bought a baby name book.

Did a bit of housework tonight too, got the vacuming done and a bit of dusting. Tomorrow the DK's and I are going to my Mom's and Dads cabin on the lake for the day. It is supossed to be nice out too....

Ann- Hope you enjoyed your evening out with DD

Diane-Hoep your hand feels better soon and I will post seperatly about shower games, since I am helping plan a shower for July.

Happy early Anniversay....hope you have something wonderful planned....enjoy...

Last Saturday while dh and I was working outside in the back yard... as I was pulling our round patio table to a new location 8o my hand slipped off from the table and I slammed it (the side down below my little finger)REAL hard into this big oversized (steal) antique chase lounge we have. OUCH!!! Hurt like a son of a gun... 8o 8o 8o Anyway... after a while it stopped hurting and it seemed... okay. I even went through Sunday without any problems. As hard as I hit it, I was SO surprised that there nothing was wrong with it... until I woke up Monday morning and I couldn't even move my fingers and had very little control over my hand/arm. I almost felt as if I had had a stroke, which was what I was afraid had happened. 8o I went in and had x-ray's taken and I had no breaks but evidently there is a lot of swelling and the swelling is evidently pinching the nerves in my hand. My arm also hurts up to my elbo... and now my arm feels as if it weigh's about 50 pounds. LOL I've been taking ibuprofin (sp?) but it seems like it's taking FOREVER... It wasn't easy trying to change diapers and make meals... Thank goodness that dd's last day of school was Thursday and she was here to help yesterday. :) It IS feeling quite a bit better today... except my arm is still feeling too heavy. LOL I'm not a good one for this to happen too... I'm way too active to sit and do nothing and watch while everyone else does MY work/job. :) I'll be glad when it's back to 100%.

Diane - Ugh about your hand! Isn't it amazing how one bump can cause so many troubles and so much pain? :\ Hope you're feeling better soon!!

You're not kidding... I actually thought it was going to be worse right away, because I REALLY wacked it a good one, and I was pleasantly surprised when it wasn't. I couldn't believe it took that long to do what it did. :) It probably doesn't sound like it would be that bad... but it's been just awful! Hopefully within a few day's it will be back to normal. I have to go back on Wednesday for another check so... we'll see. :)

Thanks and No... my dad never wanted/allowed (he was very controlling) her to get her driver's license. That's why so much has been left up to me to do with/for her. If she had her license she'd be able to be a LOT more independant and wouldn't have to rely or depend upon everyone else to get her to and from wherever she needs to go. I really don't mind because I like being with her, and I really enjoy her company... but once in a while I would really appreciate some help from a few of my other sister's... which I very seldom get. 8o 8o Oh well... sorry for venting, that's not what you asked. LOL
